Call them on 1-800-375-5283. Request to speak to a tier 2 representative as they are invariably immigration officers and are more experienced in answering more detailed queries. Certainly ask why there is a hold up to your case.

Don't panic as once they realise your case is behind they should move you in to the next stage.

You have lost quite a few weeks in the process by not following up on your case quickly enough. If you have not changed address be sure to mention that to the officer when you call so they know it's an issue their end.

I assume you haven't moved (if you have then you need to update your address!)

Yes an infopass appointment does allow you to speak to someone face to face. It might allow you to explain your case better and for you to understand what the next steps are.

So a quick update. We went to the InfoPass today about the "long wait and still no biometrics appointment", and the woman at the desk checked our case. She said that while the case is outside of the normal waiting time, that everything was as it should be and that nothing had been mailed out yet in regards to an appointment for biometrics. We asked her if there was anything else we needed to do or if they were waiting on anything from us and she responded that there's nothing for us to do at this time.

I also submitted a ticket about it through the online site a day or so before and received a similar message. So I have no idea what the heck's taking them so long.

I guess all I can do is keep waiting then. Annoyed but there's not much I can do at the moment.

Do not take this advice!! There are things you can do. I was in the same situation as you! What has most likely happened is that somehow they have screwed up and the system has lost your address. They will never tell you this though. You really should ring USCIS and demand to speak to a tier 2 agent. I was doing it almost daily before I got my letter. You need to be proactive! Some tier 1 agents won't be happy transferring you but don't even tell them what you want just say I would like to speak to a tier 2 agent you can't help me with anything.

The second thing you need to do is get your local congressman involved. I think this is what made the difference for me. Everytime I rang I got the same answer that they hadn't even scheduled my appointment yet. As soon as the representative for my congressman got involved my appointment was scheduled straight away. You can google who your congressman is, then go to their website. They should have an immigration section, with a form, which you need to fill in and then print out and sign and send to them, to give them the power to inquire about your case on your behalf. I would also ring them after you have sent it and talk to the person in charge of immigration issues for your congressman.

You need to do this all today! You need to be proactive or you will be stuck in this limbo for much longer than you need to be.

I agree with Whoisalopecia, Do not take this advice, you would be stuck for God knows how long if you just sit and keep waiting. Same thing happened to my husband's case too. We did not receive Biometrics after 30+ days and when we called to talk to a tier 2 turns out they never had an address on file so they had no where to send the notice. We also contacted our senator's office and they were able to help. Piece of advice I could give dealing with situations like this is to never sit and wait, be proactive.

Good luck on your journey :)

good news my EAD/AP has been approved. FINALLY. the notice was dated april 28 (NO CARD YET) I was going to have an infopass appointment this coming monday for my EAD now i need to cancel that.

NO email or text notice came with regards to the approval. But I remembered that I called uscis for a service request 2 weeks ago, with a reply " that we will mail the decision shortly"----in w/c case I wondered how short is SHORT.

I hope they will approve my AOS next, because next month, it's my 6th month for the AOS notice. I don't want to be calling them multiple times... ugghhh

I feel for you, I've have waited a long time myself :( you may just need to wait a bit more, maybe it will show up in the mail anytime soon w/o notification.

I know it's frustrating to wait, but don't loose hope, it will come soon.

My Congressman's office informed me that my I-485 application has been ready for interview since April 5, 2016 and is waiting in queue, and that I will get an interview notice when an interview has been scheduled. The online status has not changed at all.

Does this mean that my file has moved from NBC to my field office in Boston?
