Mistakes on form?

If I make an error on the form should I use white out or cross it out? If I mixed up where to put the numbers in my address is it acceptable to use white out and write over it?

I read on the directions for the I-130 that you can't mark out or use whiteout because a machine reads the form. I'll bet it's the same with all forms, which stinks because I had to do mine by hand because I couldn't get the form to download at first. Later I could download and typed it over, but had already done several by hand. Anyway, I'll bet they are all the same...have to be perfect.

Well the address was on there, I just wrote my flat number first and didn't have space to add road so put it just bellow as the flat number is supposed to be first not second on my address. The second mistake was just a space I shouldn't have filled out so I put a line though what I wrote.

I would not risk it. Find a printer or a place to print it out again and fill it out again. It's not worth the time lost with an RFE.

There are some really cheap printers available. Anybody doing a DIY immigration needs one. I would go so far as to say our smooth journey from from fiance to US citizen was because of--

1) Visa Journey

2) HP printer/scanner/copier/fax

We are buying a printer eventually. I have access to one, I didn't realize he could print at work so it's all fine. He just asked me if we could use white out, I said I didn't think so, so would ask here. But I had thought it was best to reprint. Tomorrow he is going to reprint and hopefully we will send tuesday/wednesday.

Considering you can buy printers that scan as well for $30 I suggest investing in one ASAP. A printer AND scanner is a necessity for this journey if you are doing it yourself.

We are reprinting them. Thanks for all the advice. We will be getting a printer, but not right now since I have access to one when I am at home and I am unfortunately going back home on Saturday
