You sound like you done this before or do you just hope its like that ?

You didn't get what i told or maybe(more likely i didn't make myself clear :joy: ) They had 2 scandates Dec 2nd and Dec 7th, but got CC today.

Not saying you are wrong, but i have see diff. on up to 3 weeks in scandates with no checklist and no SR.

So i still believe that it´s not one big pill of papers and they just take whatever comes next.

But i can be wrong :) Like you say we dont know nothing about how they work, not even a little :(

But after reading a lot and looking at a lot of cases i think that maybe just maybe it can be i´m somewhat right :)

But if proven wrong i will surrender ;)

To give you idea i have dealt with USCIS and NVC in past. And yes always remember your latest scan date counts.

So if you have a scan date of Dec 2 and then you send something else that has a scan date of Dec 7, it resets your clock to Dec 7, because they always go by most recent scan date. That is the reason you should not send anything until or unless they ask after submitting your paperwork. This has been explained on their site also, that you should submit the AOS and IV documents together not separately.

Hello and happy new year to everyone!

I have a question which may or may not have been answered previously but here goes:

My husband and I have put together all the documents required to submit to the NVC. However, Trinidad & Tobago police certificate of character is taking too long to get back (1 officer said 2wks, 1 said 4wks...today, I was told 6-8 wks!) This is the ONLY document outstanding for us to send our package to NVC. Can this document be check-listed as "unavailable" and then provided at the consulate interview?

Had the same problem in Arima. I posted it so that the folks behind us could get theirs beforehand. I'm sorry you didn't see my post, so you could of avoided the wait. Ended up waiting about 4 weeks in total. You'll probably just get a checklist. Make sure you go to the police station every Monday or so to check. Sometimes they wait till they have a few before they send them to Cental to be processed.

There is a chance they may require you to send it to NVC, and not just to the interview.

Our AOS and IV were received today at the NVC. Now the CEAC says "in transit". Where do I go from here, thread-wise?

What should I expect next? A pkt3 mailed to my husband (the Beneficiary)? Of it is expedited, do they schedule an earlier interview, or just as if it had been cc from NVC? Any experience or input is appreciated. Thanks!

My CEAC says "Your case is in transit to the Consular Section. Your interview date was provided to you by the National Visa Center."

But it wasn't. I'm guessing this is the standard message right? Or does the NVC still schedule out interview? Confused.

Well that is all good and something most of us knows in here.

But tell me then, i just got my scandate today with email, it says Dec 21st, but NVC told me Dec 23 and Dec 28.

This was just last week i spoke to them.

I will go by the scan date email date. Those email are always 2-5 days late. One more thing some people receive email on Saturday or Sunday that does not mean they are working and scanning document on Sunday. It's automated system that sends email, if that email says it is Dec 21st so it is Dec 21st, those operators you talk too cannot look deep in your case they just look last updates too your case not when it was scan or something like that. Please do not worry Dec 21st is you scan date and I believe you will get a case complete around Jan 27 to Jan 31st. Based on 35-40 days they are taking now. If I get a case complete this week then just count 11 days from my case complete. I send my docs on dec 9 and I have a scan date of dec 10 I confirmed that from a sweet lady whom I talked at NVC she told me that they go by the email date that email generates when they scan the barcode sheet and put your papers in the case file of yours. No you will have to work with embassy to schedule interview since your case is expedited now it's all embassy no more nvc involved. Once your case will reach the embassy in your country you can contact them and ask them how to schedule the interview.

Got an email saying NVC received my docs 12.29 but I spoke with NVC rep . and he said my scan date is 12.31. So I will pick 12.31 as a scan date.!

I had the same thing, when I called last week they told me on the phone that my scan date was 12/31. and I just received the email last night that they received my documents (AOS & IV) on 12/29.

I just called NVC , and they confirmed that its 12/29 ! I know its just two days but its important . I paid extra 10 bucks for the overnight delivery :D:D:D. So I will count from 12/29.

Also, I really dont think it will take 45 days. Now that we are past all the holidays, I would expect it to go way faster.

Wishing the best to everyone and sending positive vibes

By the way , I just saw my 3rd N/A. So it means CC email will come soon. My checklist scan date December 4th (nvc received the checklist documents , notification email came at Decemebr 9th). So everything seems fine:)

Nice.... Congratulations!

My CEAC says "Your case is in transit to the Consular Section. Your interview date was provided to you by the National Visa Center."

Call NVC and find out, or call your embassy.

Don't worry. My story;

Ncv recieved documents: 10/19

Checklist request: 12/01 ( My attorney talked on the phone and sent all the cheklist documents (military document and spouse domicile) by email and mail. My attorney told me my case proceeds smoothly and she doesn't expect any other checklist. )

Nvc recieved documents: 12/4

so I think we will get CC in this week.

I don't want to ask my lawyer to talk to them again just wait and see.

Similar story first scan date 10/16got a checklist on the phone 12/01...we later sent the document (Police Clearance which was sent in the original package) with the cover letter after getting the official checklist email and we got a scan date email on 01/02 saying our scan date was 12/16... A week later they send us another scan date email saying our scan date is 12/21... We calls yesterday and the there was no reason just accept it, new scan date. More time to wait. It's beyond frustrating.

People are getting bogus checklists even when they have lawyers and when they are organised. And the NVC can get away with just about anything. We have contacted our Senator but we're still waiting for help. We've done everything correctly and our case could have been over in November.
