What is the chance of a Fiance getting a tourist visa when she is in the 3rd world?

She has been turned down 2X already in the past and so I am wondering if it is even worth trying or not? SHe is a Dr. has a job and they tell her that she is too pretty, young etc. and deny her the visa each time and the last time was 2 years ago. We have a K1 in process with NOA1 and are waiting for the NOA2 but instead of me going there all the time we would love for her to visit here as well prior.

I am thinking it would be really hard to get one with a K1 in process?

That's what I thought.. I think the last interview went something like.."weren't you a runner up for miss nepal?"...Too young, too pretty, you will get married and never come back.. Visa denied.

Hence the K-1

In addition this time they will see you have a pending K-1 visa with the intention to immigrate, that's just another reason to add on top of the past ones for denial.

Im sorry, at least K-1's go relatively quickly.

I agree, most of the time, it is pretty difficult.

It will cost $160 to find out.

Don't apply? Won't know.

Should she apply, let us know the outcome.

Good luck.

her being a doctor apparently will not slow her down from abandoning that job to eventually move to the US....and a CO will wonder why that process won't be speeded up via the B2 - 'gosh, we had not intention of marrying.....yet...., marry and file for an AOS...

In realistic terms, what super strong motivation does she really have that would guarantee her return?

With a USC fiancé, well, there does not appear to anything stronger than the desire to remain in the US....

I guess the fact that she is educated and a professional who is a Dr. as well as having a masters in hospital administration and us going through the K-1 process I would think would indicate motivation to do things the right way so that work, life, children etc would all be great in the future.

IT costs me about $20,000 or more each trip I take in loss to my business and it would be nice to have her come some of the time instead of me always going I was thinking..sigh..

Once again, she is about to abandon all of that within the next several weeks....thus, she has more reasons to stay put, marry and begin the AOS than to return to Nepal (and how is it that the cost of her going to the US is less? She would be giving up salary as well) lots of people have had the ever popular mind change during baggage claim...being educated or being a professional has nothing to do with those mind changes.

I guess that because I make a lot more than she does by a factor of 20 it would be nice to have the travel burden go both ways even if I pay the airfare. I am sure that anything is possible but just would like to even out the 40 hour each way trips.. and sometimes longer.. For me to spend 5 days there it takes me two days of travel each way so about 10-11 days each pop.

And it is nice to get to know my family as well first before marriage but not essential either I guess.

Did this with my first wife 30 years ago and it was about 4 month process "after" we got married while we were living in Germany ( now the fastest is the K-1 and like 6 months..).

Curious how many had the "ever popular mind change during baggage claim"? I don't know any that went through the process from my friends that ever got cold feet on arrival just before the process was complete and they were still in their own countries..

I did get an interesting message from a man who was Nepali and who brought his fiance to the US and she left him here..

the percentage of foreign fiancés. 'family friends', etc, from developing countries who arrive in the US on a B2 and have the mind change is upwards of 90%....it is not a rare occurrence.

I am looking at the K-1 not a business or tourist visa so hopefully that is better.. ;)

Uh oh, you think hmf18181 will show you mercy because your case is different?

He will tell you that the K-1 is an Immigration visa with the intention of immigrating, while you are trying to apply for a tourist visa which shows an intent of non-immigration.

So basically by having a K-1 in progress you are showing clear intent to immigrate which is hard to prove otherwise that she is not intending to immigrate with another visa.
