Can I visit my home country just 1 month after immigration to US

I'm sure this question must be asked before but I can't find the topic.

I have a CR1 visa and I'll be going to US via Abu Dhabi. I purchased a return ticket because I have to come to my home country after 1 month to attend sone personal business. But now I'm getting confused if it's a good idea? Am I going to have any problems at the POE or I am just being paranoid?

Thank you in advance for your help!

You're going to have no problem. After they stamp your CR1 visa in your passport during POE, that serves as a temporary green card for one year. You can use that to return to the US afterwards. Just make sure you don't stay outside the US for more than one year.

My issue is if they'll ask me why am I going back so soon?

Plus I have one more question, does it matter if I go to New York instead of Washington as my husband lives with his family in Potomac and we wanted to spend some time alone(because we never had a formal honeymoon) before going to his place.

And Thank you for the quick reply before! :)

Yo can enter the country at whichever point you like. If you want to fly into New York and your husband meet you there, that's perfectly fine.

I will be entering by whichever point gets me the cheapest fare.

Thank you so much for your help! :)

My POE would still be Abu Dhabi. I was just wondering do they know that you've booked a return flight?

They don't care if you have a one-way or return flight. For some countries, it's cheaper to get a return ticket than a one way one.

They also understand that for recent immigrants, it's common for them to go back to run errands and tie loose ends in their home countries in the first year.

It's extremely unlikely they will question you about your ticket. Don't worry about it!

My father entered on immigrant visa two months ago and went back after 12 days. he was simply asked at POE about his early return and he told them that he had some family matters to take care of. They may or may not ask but there is no problem in returning back early. However as others said you should not stay out of US for more than a year preferably you should go back within 6 months.

No problem

I just learned that Abu Dhabi has CBP pre-clearance...sweet. They even list the average wait times, the US is so efficient.

I'd like to petition CBP to put pre-clearance at Pu Dong!
