Glad to hear some interviews going on! That's awesome! But we are going on nine months, and this thread has been pretty quiet. At least there are a few! On another thread for Dallas old cases, someone who filed the beginning of November had just received their interview letter for the middle of September.

I guess the USCIS figures they can make AOS'ers on the basis of marriage wait longer because if you have been married for three years, you can apply for citizenship after holding GC for two years. So they make some people wait a year in AOS limbo, give them GC, then they need to file for ROC and citizenship in the same few months! However, I bet it's much more simple than that - they just don't work the cases fast enough.

Signature coming soon...

Today, we received our GC in the mail. :dancing::dancing:

Mysterious are the ways of how the USCIS works. There was no change in the status for our case since sending off the RFE response in March 2016. We sent a case enquiry after the 6 month deadline passed. We got a letter from USCIS stating that they had no timeline of when the case would be processed in mid July 2016. We gave up bothering about the GC processing and were mentally prepared to think of renewing the EAD by early next year!

Now some breathing time until next stage!!

Congrats to all the folks who recently got approved.

My interview is scheduled for Oct 17th and I was wondering if anyone can help me figure out what documents I need to take with me? I have seen some checklists, but all of them are different, which as you know is getting really confusing for me. Also, mine is a K1 based, do I need to get my medical done again?

Ours was k1 based too and we did not have to redo the medical. When did you have your medical/file for AOS?

We brought what the interview leter said to bring, byt she only asked for marriage certificate, evidence of relationship(any documents that have both of our names on it like bank, lease, and car/car insurance as well as medical insurance) and pictures. She also asked about how we met/how he proposed/why we decided to get married/ any trips we went on together
