Today we hit day 76, so I decided to call USCIS to see what's the EAD/AP status and if they can send it to me already cause I'm getting crazy over here (or maybe I said expedite? never mind...)

When they asked me what was my reason to expedite it I told the truth - we are on day 76 and I was approached by recruiters on linkedin regarding job opportunities.

At first I thought nothing is going to happen because the woman on the phone was very robotic in her answers and questions and sounded like she's reading off of a page.

To my surprise, about two and a half hours later I got 2 texts, one for each case - EAD/AP approved and the EAD card is being produced!

Congrats!

Thanks Amhara, theres no update on AP yet, I give it a few days. I'm worried they might forget about my AP since I did not get NOA1 for that.

Anyway it seems like Atlanta is moving and processing.

By the way, how long are we allowed to work for with EAD? Just wondering if it is hard to get a full time perm position with that.

I called the National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283.

I chose to check the status of the case and then talk to a representative. They needed the case number and the A number

Congrats! :goofy::dancing:EAD is usually valid for a year from the date you signed the form and the renewal to be sent 3-4 months before expiring , so a good 6 months usefulness :sleepy:

Hi everyone

I've been following this thread even though we filed for EAD and GC at the end of November.

My EAD was approved on 9th Feb, received in the mail on 17th Feb.

Out of idle curiosity I just checked the USCIS case tracker for AOS application and it says that it was approved on 19th Feb and is on its way to me. Really shocked as I thought the fact that I'd received my EAD would mean that the GC would be months off.

This is, of course, unless I've misunderstood what this means. The text reads:

"On February 19, 2016, we approved your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status, Receipt Number MSCXXXXXXXXXX. We will mail your approval notice. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address."

I hope this is encouraging for everyone (please break it to me gently if I've misunderstood :))
