Hello VJ members i have my interview today at 9:00 am it was nice and smooth they ask me 4 questions have you been married before? And how do you meet your husband? Do you have pictures? If you're husband was married before? And then the asked me for original divorce document and i have to submit to consulat and I asked the one who was interviewing what should i do he told me that everything is good you have to submit to us this document and you can pick up your visa in week after is that good or bad??

Yes its good just send them the original/certified copy of divorce soon as possible. Congratulations.

Hey guys my husband just finished his interview. He said they didnt ask to see no pictures or any documents other then the ones sent from the nvc.

All he has to do is get his medical exam done and send it to them and he will recieve his passport back with his visa.

Sounds like they gave you form 221g.

If it is only a week turnaround then that is pretty good.

Some Embassy's are very slow when it comes to reacting after you have sent in the required document.

Hopefully you can send in very soon, and receive your visa a week later.

Do we have a separate topic for the after-interview stage? I believe, my questions will be off-topic here.

How do we track receiving the green card upon the arrival? We have paid the fee, so, how soon does the GC arrive after we get the the USA?

If you read the interview reports,you can see, that there are 2 questions that they ask everyone : how did you meet your spouse and what does your spouse do. Very often the conversation does not go beyond these 2 themes. If you give good answers the CO gets completely satisfied.

So, preparing Perfect answers to these questions is a clue to successful interview. My husband and me did that.

Nope you can stay right here and ask. Tracking it using the ELIS system. Nothing happens until you POE the CBP activates the production.

How long depends where you live. Some 2 weeks some longer. Expect 4 to 8 weeks is the norm.

Be sure to go to SS office after a week to verify he is in system. Can't always rely ion the check box on the DS-260

The same thing happened at my husband's interview. They didn't even take a look at the photos or any of the documents he took with him to the embassy, and didn't ask him any questions. He was simply told congratulations and was given the approval letter. Praise God :-)

There was no interview at all. The consulate didn't ask my husband so much as one small question, and nothing he took to the interview was looked through by the consulate (photos, original documents, etc) As soon as my husband walked into the room for his interview, he was congratulated on his approval. He never even needed to sit down...Just walked into the room, was told the amazing news, was handed his approval letter, thanked the consulate and walked back out of the room. God is good!

A well put together petition and front loading in some cases don't need questions. You gave them all they need. That's awesome.

I did do a lot of front loading. I even sent them a 25 page child art style book I made (which I let the kids color) that explained our whole story with pictures instead of words.
