So I shouldn't have called? My lawyer told me I shouldn't as they delay the case when we do. I can't imagine waiting another 42 days. I beyond frustrated right now, I can't imagine how you feel. Has anyone else had a supervisor review that didn't have to wait 42 days?

Maybe you are lucky and you don't have to wait the whole 42 days.

Some people are lucky, some are not and have to wait either 42 days or longer.

Well we are hoping for the best. It's either a January interview or an February Interview.

Only god knows.

Keep your head up our time will come eventually.

I'm waiting for my case to be complete after the Nvc stated that it was missing our marriage certificate. We sent it express mail and the received it on 10-30-2015, and I then received a letter stating that it will take 1 month for them to review it and get back to me. I called NVC today 12-1-2015 and the girl told me that it hasn't been reviewed but that she will foward it to her supervisor so they can review it ASAP. Is this normal? Will she really forward it her supervisor? Will that even help? And how long should I wait know? I'm soooo anxious I might just pick up and leave to Dominican Republic to be with Hubby ?

I was on supervisor review for less than one week, some people are on it much longer, up to 42 days... I guess it just depends on the supervisor assigned to your case. Goodluck!

Whoa! I'm shocked they approved an expedite request based on a family wanting to spend Christmas together. This is landmark unusual and you're incredibly lucky. Being approved for expedite is normally very difficult because the circumstances have to be so extreme. I have a friend here in VJ who requested an expedite because she had to face a very major surgery and needed her husband there to help her in her recovery, but she was turned down flat.

I'm sorry for him.

I read someone say that his expedite had been accepted by the same reason so we tried .... and after two weeks of waiting the answer is yes

Your lawyer is so full of garbage! Calling does not delay your case by even one second! When I read that your lawyer told you that, it actually made me angry. The absurd things immigration attorneys tell people just makes me boil.

You can call NVC every day of th week if you want. Heck, if you feel like it, you can call at breakfast, lunch and dinner every day of the week! Some people here really do! No matter how often you call, it won't effect your case. I highly recommend being very proactive in your case. Here's one example of one reason why....By calling NVC I learned we had an RFE a full week before the email arrived from NVC to inform us of it. By the time the email arrived to request the information, it was already in the hands of NVC. Now here's one example of why you shouldn't just let your attorney deal with it......Someone did not know for a MONTH that their attorney had not sent information to NVC in response to an RFE. The attorney forgot! If the person had been calling NVC, they would have known the info wasn't there.

I highly recommend you call often and stay on top of what's happening with your case.

yes that's the only reason mentioned in our expedite .... nothing ventured, nothing gained. .... it's really the only reason

Wow, that is quite an experience. Congratulations on your case being expedited. I am going to assume that the US Embassy there is not very busy. You also probably wrote up a well written e-mail.

I like your motto. You are very fortunate.

That is very true.

Sometimes the only people you will understand you are the ones going through the same situation as you.

Heads up. It's all just a matter of time :)

When you called NVC a lot, did you just say you wanted to check status on your case? How long after your scan date did you start calling?

I hate waiting and not being able to do anything to move my case along.

Yes I would say I was checking up on where things stand with our case, then the person I was speaking with would take a look at our case and tell me all the latest info.

I would call once per week on Fridays, except when there was something I was particularly anxious about. 2 days after I sent information I would start calling to ask if they had it.

Waiting is miserable, but calling does help, because at least you know exactly where things currently stand.

By the way, if I had not called and insisted something be done about our RFE document not being looked at, I think it may still be sitting there. I do know for sure we wouldn't be where we are now!
