It's not that easy. Nebraska is taking 2-3 weeks to send the cases to NVC. After it takes about a week or a bit less to reach NVC. It's been taking a week or 8-10 business days after they receive your case to get a case number. You have to wait until you get a notification email and text (if you have that) saying USCIS sent your case to the department of state . Then after a week of that you should start calling NVC to see if they received your case.

Mine (somehow) got sent the next day, so keep checking the USCIS status page, as it should update and say when it's sent over. I was fortunate to have it be sent out the next day, get to the NVC in 4 days and then get a case number in o ne calendar week. Then, of course, their website had a glitch and I couldn't DO anything with that case number for another week XD In any case, keep checking, calling, whatever, until you get what you need. It seems pretty random as to when stuff actually happens, though.

I think you were one of the lucky few that got approved right in time before they sent the load of cases I've seen that happen to many. I was to late in the approvals lol I think, I THINK it seems like they wait every two weeks or so to send everything that way they're not just sending a few they send a whole bunch together makes life easier for them most likely. But I agree call as much as you wish. Also follow timelines with people who are currently starting the NVC part that really helped me. Actually gryphon was one of the people who REALLY helped me out when I first started. So thanks for that! Haha I really appreciate that :) Edited by angela_garcia23

That makes a lot of sense that they would batch them up like they do for the interviews. That would be an interesting trend to try to map out. I checked fairly often myself, and war teacher and I are kind of tracking each other's progress since we're so close together in timelines :P Part of me wanted to stop thinking about it and just wait to hear from them, but the other part knew that this was the US government, not necessarily known for expeditious work haha. So the sooner YOU know, the sooner you can push on to the next step instead of waiting for them!

... and that's kind of you to say - I'm very happy to hear that I was able to help! I know personally I get pretty anxious myself about this whole deal so to know I'm able to possibly allay some of that means a lot :D And of course, there are plenty of people who've helped me so it only seems fair!

I also ask to speak to supervisor she explained to me there is nothing they do but give me the same info that was given to me. All we can do is wait patiently ??????

Aww I'm sorry they haven't given you any real news. Have you called and asked to speak to a tier 2 officer to see what kind of information hey can give you? I find it weird as to how they do approvals some cases get approved much faster then others. The whole deal is a mess. I really hope that soon they'll be able to help you or better yet I hope you get your approval soon :)

I am incredibly sorry to hear that - I think that's incredibly unfortunate that, with some petitions, they seem to drag their feet worse than a spoiled three-year-old away from a free candy store. I'm always of the persuasion that you should get what you pay for, so I complain a lot when that doesn't happen (I guess I should thank my Mother for that). I hope that the situation resolves itself soon, but I don't think it hurts to light more fires under their backsides.

Hello i am a november filer i have been approved and the only thing left for me was to send my IV documents.

I sent my documents a couple hours ago and just realized that I accidentally attached the invoice sheet and not the cover sheet.

How much will this impact my case

Hello,

I submitted on the 3rd of May, I also go confirmation (from FedEx) that the NVC received my documents the same day. Since then I have heard nothing from the NVC, not even to confirm that they have received my documents. I'm not sure how concerned to be. It's been 30 days now.

No, we're using a lawyer who said that the NVC are running slow and to just wait. I've emailed her this morning to ask her to call and chase them as I'm getting concerned, especially as other people on this forum with a similar timeline to my application seem to be getting processed fairly quickly.
