Need some insight - country too dangerous to be present for CRBA

I am about to file for CRBA - I have two sons born out of wedlock in El Salvador (6 and 5 years old) - I am a US Born Citizen and havent visited my sons since 2011 due to gangs and crime in El Salvador.

I'm married now in the USA and filed to bring my wife using guidance from this forum - she's been here since 2012.

I've gone through the checklist - I can provide any of that including pictures from when they were born up until the time I stopped going in 2011. I also have records from time of birth until now of my supporting them financially.

What would be the best way of me going about getting my sons here - I really don't feel safe going to El Salvador anymore and it only gets worse as time goes by.

Any help is appreciated, thank you!

Why didn't you just do CRBA when they were born?

You need to send in all the papers to the US Embassy and then you need to bring your kids to the embassy for an appointment. So yeah, if you want your kids to get their US citizenship and come to the US, you have to fly down to El Salvador.

Normally, I try not to judge in my posts but seriously, you don't feel that El Salvador is safe but you've left your kids there for almost six years?!?! Your their father, flipping fly down and bring your kids to safety...

I agree with this in regard to leaving them unsafe. Seeing as they were born out of wedlock you'd lively need to be there for a crba appointment

"The child and both parents must be present at the appointment. The fee for this service is USD 205. This fee includes the Consular Report of Birth Abroad (CRBA)and a U.S. passport for the child."

thanks for the comments, It has been an on-going battle with their mom since my oldest was born (who they are with at the present time) and I feel that now that they are bigger she is more keen on letting them come. It hasn't been easy trying to convince her that she won't see our kids for a very long time once they come (and lack of funds as she does not work and I'm her only form of income.)

My sons are safe, it's older male adults who get robbed/kidnapped/killed when word gets out someone from the USA has either been deported or has traveled to a particular town or city.
