Bring the x-ray disc as well, if you were given one of those.

There are POE guides in the links on top of the VJ page. You can read the reviews of your POE there. That's how I choose the POE I will use. :)

Depending on the busy-ness of the border that day it is usually 1/2 hr or so. If you're driving it takes more time to park the vehicle and walk inside :) If you're importing a vehicle also have those documents ready as well as your packing list of what you have. They require the sealed packet and your passport (no need to have your previous paperwork handy.

Wanted to know that when going to POE other than the passport and the sealed envelope what other documents should be taken ?

How long is the process at the POE ?

What is the nature of questions that the POE officers may ask ??

Kindly guide me - thanx

if at Champlain, try to ovoid Monday and early morning, I had a bad experience with a rude and intimidating officer, I think it was my bad luck.

but when I came to import the car, the officer was very nice and helpful, here how was my situation:

Hi.

I imported my car yesterday October 5, very easy and the CO was very nice.

1-KIA compliance letter ( stating only conform to CMVSS and US EPA and no recall).

2- plate copy+ I took a picture of the sticker under the hood + the sticker on the window + plate and print them, the CO was very happy. he didn t move from his desk, he proceed the importation without checking the car

3-they didn t ask for the bank letter I said I m the owner he write on the form and I signed it.

4-copy of your driving licence + assurance

I print out the blue book page for my car and he used mine, to tell me how much I have to pay for duty , my car is a KIA sportage 20013 I paid 405$ cause its made from Korea

by the way you need to fill 02 forms (EPA form. 3520-1 and the declaration form where you check box 2B)

the first rude officer said

1-that its no sense to know a guy online and get married to.

2-making a joke on my fiance name.

3-he said : I'm afraid that I can t process this, I asked him why, he said its a complete mess, there is no sense, you knew him 2 years and get married its ridiculous.

believe me it was a 1/hour but I felt that I'm having a heart attack. i give up my job, my apartment, and no where to go back.

so get prepared.
