I met my fiancee back in November 2012. We've been together since then but I've only been back once to him once in 2015. Do you think it would be a problem? I went back in September and spent a week with him and his family. Some people have been telling me that it might be a problem that I've physically seen him only twice. Will it be a problem in my application process?

Uncertain if Haiti is a more difficult embassy, but the requirements is met w/in 2 yrs so you've met that. From seeing on here it seems like many people have only met once and much shorter relationships. So if you have other strong evidence of a bonafide relationship think you should be fine at least specifically just meeting 2x in 3 yrs and 1 in the last yr is not deal breaker.

My (now) husband and I only met twice for our approval of the K1 visa, and we were only together for 3 years prior to marriage.

Some counties have a high fraud rate and tend to look at couples who only met a couple times with suspicion. I would do your due diligence and find out everything you can by looking up timelines & threads that others from your fiance(e)'s country posted.

i see, that's helpful thank you. The other problem is that when we met, we mostly used phone calls back in 2012/2013 before viber, skype and the other useful technology. I wouldnt able to show proof. Any takers on this???

Did you meet prior? Have email interactions? Mail eachother love letters?

Phone evidence is nice, but there are tons of other things that can count.

I mailed my husband a used laptop and wireless router so we could communicate when his PC got fried. I included that. :)

My fiancee and I were together from 2013 and now. Unfortunately, back in 2012/2013 phone calls were the best method of communicating with each other. Now, I don't have proof of that to start the process. Any takers on this? I didnt know that we would last for so long. I need help???

You can include phone records in many instances, reconstructed though they might be.

"Face time" is exceptionally important in convincing a skeptical consul of the bona fide nature of your relationship at a tough embassy. Furthermore, you can't always count on their looking at evidence that you bring to the interview. Spare no expense, and make as many more visits as you can for as long a time as you can.

If you called long distance, your phone company may be able to pull up old bills via their archive and send them to you. This will give you a printed record of your calls then. As for now, keep records of your skype, viber and social network interactions.

With regard to your OP, you only need to meet once in the past 2 years. My wife and I only met once in person ever, but she is from the Philippines and that is presently a rather easy embassy to get a K-1 Visa. I cannot speak for Haiti, but you may be able to gauge the amount of visits you need via the country specific forums on this website: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/153-caribbean/

I don't think it will be a problem. It really depends on the person reviewing the case. Send a nice explanation. I will tell you we sent above and beyond anything asked. We never used an attorney and never had any problems during the entire process. Good luck.

Anything you may have from the earlier period in your relationship would be helpful. You've already mentioned letters, but also consider any photos with him/famliy/friends, or evidence of your first trip (you might be able to get a record of this from the airline, if necessary). Otherwise, anything you have more recently will be good. If you use Skype, you can pull the log of calls/chats, for example.
