Hello all!

I have some letters I want to send over to my fiance to use for the interview, but the letters are very precious to me and I'm not sure I want to risk it going through the mail. Would the officer accept and consider copies of letters (if copies of envelopes are included)? Also, my fiance and I have kept a "journal" or personal letters we write to each other, usually while I'm visiting him. Some of the letters are very personal and private, would it be okay to take copies of certain letters out of the journal and show those?

Also for photos- I'm a Shutterfly fan and all of my pictures are on photo-books. (we have about 4) I understand this might not be convenient in case they want to keep certain pictures. I have thought about making copies of maybe 2-4 pages of each book.

Thoughts? Ideas? Inspirational advice?

Time is ticking and we are getting nervous and very very anxious.

Thanks again!

[Moderator hat off]

Your fiance may bring originals for the consul to copy. Even better, he should bring originals and copies, give the copies to the consul, and show the originals as verification. Forget the envelopes if the letters are dated.

Avoid giving anything too personal or private. (As an extra caution, avoid like the plague any letters in which you refer to yourselves as "wife" or "husband," no matter how lovingly or jestingly.)

Provide photos of yourselves in various situations together.

The goal is to convince a skeptical stranger (with unlimited power) of the bona fide nature of your relationship. With this in mind, pick representative samples and compile a reasonable amount of material that YOU want the consul to see.
