Just got my NOA2 approved, yay:)

They say the K1 process can take up to a year but so far it has been super fast, where is the hold up? what takes the longest?

Will it take longer to get the interview?

SUPER excited :) but a bit stressed haha.

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

For some people that is correct, it took me about a year before I was back home with Seve. But for some it is quicker. They just have that "it can take a year" warning so that you're mentally prepared that it could take that long.

For Swedes the longest time are the processing at service centers. People from fraud countries can spend almost more time in Administrative Processing than at the service centers.

In Sweden you can get an interview within 3 days usually so as soon as you get that checklist, start gathering documents :) If you already know it from the info you've gotten here on VJ you can get a head start.

Congrats on your approval, that is fast. Basically you are very lucky having it dealt with by the California Centre.

There had been awful delays for most of this year at the Texas Centre with people waiting from 170 to 200 days just for the NOA2, initial approval, because of this backlog, all applications were transferred to California at the end of March 2015 to even out the backlog. So that's why it can take a year with people like me waiting 6 months just for NOA2, ours was put in in February 2015.

Yes you were lucky, the long wait for the Texas filers is very frustrating and costs a lot of money, me for instance made a trip to see my Fiancée to Florida, inbetween NOA1 and NOA2, which was great, but I would have rather used that money for my move there on the K1. Also how can you manage your job, accommodation etc, with no idea when you may have to move, because you don't know when you will eventually get the visa. The only good bit about waiting for so long is that it proves your relationship is genuine and is built on a very strong foundation, because the things you have to go through proves that you love each other deeply and want to be together. So in my case it will probably be just under a year, I'm just waiting for our case to get through NVC and then onto London, so hopefully I will be done in the next couple of months and will be there November/ December, in time for my birthday and Christmas!

Exactly this process is too fast for some, too quick for others, if you search on VJ you can find all about the Texas filers frustrations on this and how it seems so unfair that is is simply like a lottery of where the petitioners live in the States as to where it gets dealt with.

But anyway enough of all that, I was just trying to explain to you what has happened to others before you applied in July and how the Texas filers were stuck at Texas for an eternity, and so could take a year, anyway I'm positive now and looking forward to being with my fiancée before Christmas. Good luck to you too, thanks ?

As stated, the Texas filers are the ones with the year wait. NOA1 --> NOA2 was about 6 months. Now waiting on NVC but very excited just to be done with the longest wait!
Congrats on the NOA2!

Ahh yes :) Everyone who filed after February this year, got very lucky. They are sending everyones application right trough CSC instead of deviding it between CSC and TSC. And most of us (Well I did) expected that CSC was going to work slower since they have more workload now. But, it seems like they even went to work faster ! Our Noa1 date is 25 of august, our Noa2 is expected this or next week ! If u are an august filer, come join our thread ! :)

Just like you, I was lucky to have been forwarded to CSC. Everything moved super fast for me and oddly enough, my longest wait will be from now until my interview (the earliest available appointment was Nov 5).

K1, EAD/AP + AOS + ROC = 0 RFE's

Next step: Citizenship!
