Guys do you think it is okay to respond to an RFE with more documents other than what it asks for? ?

Here is some advice. Follow the RFE to the "T". They are asking only for what they need to process your application. If you send more it looks like your second guessing them and you may add additional processing the possibility of get another RFE. Don't open that can of worms.

Send it back according to the instructions within the RFE. Your almost there.

Why do more, if do will do?

Is it the 0700? I thought for non-immigrant or k1 visa I should call the 0888. Thank you. I will try to call them again..

You are "requested" but if you use either number you'll get through but I have heard from others that 0700 is not as busy.

For the first time in over 6 years, my income is below the poverty line. I have a bank account in my mother's name that we are discussing signing over to me, which will put me above poverty line, but if they are concerned that my regular income is not above poverty line and that my assets alone are what I'm depending on, then I want to give added assurance that my mother will be there as a backup. I just don't want them to have any excuses they may consider to not give her the visa. If I had met her a year sooner than I did, then this would not have been an issue, but I believe that God had other plans in mind and it was necessary for me to meet her after other things in my life had fallen into place first.

US embassy Manila prefers that the joint sponsor for K1 is an immediate relative of the petitioner (ex: parent or sibling). They do not have to except the co-sponsor for a K1, but each case is different. I have seen approvals and I have seen more rejected applications.

If the K1 visa application fails, you can take the spousal route. You would marry in the Philippines and then file for a visa In the IR1/CR1 category, the joint sponsor can be anybody (relative or friend) as long as they meet the requirements. This process the CO must take the sponsor.

$265 is for the K-1 Visa Application fee which includes the interview. Medical and reports are extra

Thanks for the response. I knew about the medical exams being separate. Thanks again :)

Thank you! I am hoping for a prompt "READY" status. My target date for Medical is December 1st, and for interview is December 15. What does your case status say already? I know your fiancee still needs to concentrate on her board exams... Please extend my good luck wishes. :) I'm sorry, may I please ask why you need a co-sponsor again? If I'm not mistaken, I read you posted that your income has well reached 100% of the 2015 Poverty Guidelines. :)

Our status is still "at nvc" as well. Got our case number on the 5th. Hoping they send it out soon. My fiance is doing her medical Dec 2-3 and her interview is on the 4th. Praying all goes smoothly. So far the process has been going very well.

You're very welcome. This can be such a stressful process that even though all the 'answers' may be right in front of us, we still can miss them.

We finally got an email & text. Got RFE'd for the NOA2. Not sure for what though. Just have to wait for the letter.

Awww well I'm glad you finally heard something. I'm sure it will be a quick fix.

I am too nervous to go ahead and fill out the DS-160, set up interview, and set up the medical appointment in fear it takes too long to leave the NVC. I really want to set up the interview before the holidays so it doesn't get pushed back into the new year. What do y'all think? We have been there since the 27th of October.

It is my mother that will co-sponsor. I'm hoping to make all arrangements to show that I meet the minimum requirements so that at least then, she is simply added insurance.

Also consider Rebtel-which has phone app! It goes by credit but it has option to use WIFI, and thus no credit used up. Great wifi will ensure pretty good signal.

Another option is Skype, but have to have good signal. Magic Jack is great idea too. I sometimes had issues with connection but it worked ok overall.

thank you!! I had no idea these existed!!!

I am the beneficiary originally from UK !!

Question for those of you going through the Philippines. How many have left NVC and are either at or on their way to Manila? How long were you at NVC? How many are still at NVC waiting to be sent out?

We're still waiting for our case number from NVC. My fiance(petitioner) called last Friday 6th of November and he was told that they haven't received our application yet. We got our NOA2 last 29th of October so I guess it was too early to call them. My fiance will give them another call this Friday to check again.

I don't have my passport yet with me cause I just had it renewed. It was already late when I realized that it'll be expiring in less than 6 months, so we can't do anything yet until my passport arrives. I'm expecting to get it on the 23rd of November. We're hoping we can get everything done by December so I can spend my holidays without having to worry about anything.

It's been taking 2 to 3 weeks to get case numbers from NVC. I'm just a little frustrated even though we've only been at NVC a week now. Anxiously waiting for the status to change. We have everything done. She has her NBI, CENOMAR, medical registration and interview scheduled. I mailed everything she needs from me today. We are just hoping NVC sends out our petition soon. That's the last thing we need. I'm sure it will be at the embassy before her interview I'd just like to see that it's on the way. Lol :):D

It will. :) As what I've been reading online it doesn't take that long for it to arrive in Manila.

I have a few questions. The interview date that you got, December 4, is that the soonest available schedule? And do we have to wait for the letter from NVC with the case no. before we can proceed? I've watched videos for K1 visa process and they brought with them the letter from NVC with the "approved" and the instructions on what to do next to the interview or is that what they call the packet 3?

The earliest interview appt was Nov 30th as of yesterday when I made her appt. We just chose the 4th. She only wants to make one trip to Manila so she is doing her medical and interview all that week. From what I've learned about the process in the Philippines, once you have your MNL# you can proceed. No need to wait for a letter. When I called for the MNL I got the invoice number too. She was able to to her DS-160 and pay the visa fee once we got the MNL. Once the visa fee is paid you can schedule your interview. There is plenty of help both here in the forum as well as other places on how to proceed and what is needed for all the steps. We are excited and praying everything continues smoothly.
