I do not know, but are you using a calling card? You could be on hold for a long time and if you get the voice telling you to call back later you may have to pay connection charges each time. Unless you have free international. Blessings.

Guys, I will be calling NVC from UK - is there a code to go in front (i.e. +44 ) ?

Are you sure? The wait is an average of 30 minutes, it is going to be a very expensive international phone call. If you have a smart phone, you can download the MagicJack App (free), and it will allow you to call any number in the United States using your mobile data/wifi.

Hope this helps! :)

Well we are both in the UK at the moment ...! My fiancé leaves for the states on December 4th, so if we need to call after then I will make him do it! if not, the wifi thing is AWESOME! thank you so much!

I am the beneficiary originally from UK !!

Also consider Rebtel-which has phone app! It goes by credit but it has option to use WIFI, and thus no credit used up. Great wifi will ensure pretty good signal.

Another option is Skype, but have to have good signal. Magic Jack is great idea too. I sometimes had issues with connection but it worked ok overall.

I called 603-334-0888 just this morning and still they don't have yet our case. ? they said it will take 35 days..it's been 12 days..

Your NOA2 date is the day before me, so think we´re going to be there at the same time.

I was told last night my time, that it will be 2-4 if not 4-6 from the NOA2 to NVC gets and gives a case number.

So give it a week more and start call them again :)

Happy hunt and good luck

Is it the 0700? I thought for non-immigrant or k1 visa I should call the 0888. Thank you. I will try to call them again..

Oh no! Does it charge you a monthly fee now? I'm sorry, I've had that app for years now on my phone and it's still free when I use it. When I downloaded it years ago, it said they would only charge a monthly fee if you like your own US number.

Called NVC again today, just got off the phone with them (waited 30 mins again), and our case was already assigned a case number, yey!!! :joy:

Checked status, it said AT NVC. :)

Congratulations!!! We're still in a waiting process. I need to gather financial documents for myself and my cosponsor. May not get it together until Christmas break, but we have plenty of time since I was informed that it is okay if we go past the expiration date on the NOA2. I'm still considering mailing a request for extension just to be on the safe side, but it will be so expensive to mail one little letter.

Thank you! I am hoping for a prompt "READY" status. My target date for Medical is December 1st, and for interview is December 15. What does your case status say already? I know your fiancee still needs to concentrate on her board exams... Please extend my good luck wishes. :) I'm sorry, may I please ask why you need a co-sponsor again? If I'm not mistaken, I read you posted that your income has well reached 100% of the 2015 Poverty Guidelines. :)

Hey all! I haven't called the NVC for a whillleee now and today I just decided to give it a shot. Called the 1(603)334-0700 number seven times and on the 8th try I got through. Spent only 17 minutes on the phone and BAM they received our case today and already assigned it a VAC number! So now we're just waiting for it to get to the embassy in Vancouver :D

For the first time in over 6 years, my income is below the poverty line. I have a bank account in my mother's name that we are discussing signing over to me, which will put me above poverty line, but if they are concerned that my regular income is not above poverty line and that my assets alone are what I'm depending on, then I want to give added assurance that my mother will be there as a backup. I just don't want them to have any excuses they may consider to not give her the visa. If I had met her a year sooner than I did, then this would not have been an issue, but I believe that God had other plans in mind and it was necessary for me to meet her after other things in my life had fallen into place first.

Hello everyone!!!

Sorry I haven't post anything for a while because of my work, but I've been following your posts!

First of all, congratulations for all the good news that I've seen so far :joy: (NOA2, NVC, accepted RFE...)!!!!

2 things I want to share today :

- I'm in the US visiting my fiance for a very short week. I was a little bit anxious about coming here because of what might happen at the POE. I've read that some people in the middle of the K1 process (without the actual visa in the passport) got trouble getting in. By the time I took the plane, I had with me the NOA2 and our case was beeing transfered to NVC. To avoid any problems,I had with me a letter from my employee proving that I'm still working, my work contract and paycheck, and my plane tickets for the way back. Good news, I had NO TROUBLE at all. I got in with the ESTA as a 'tourist'. I was honest about my reason to be here (visiting my fiance). They did not mention the K1 process and did not asked for my employee letter or other piece of information whatsoever.

- We received yesterday through mail a letter from NVC! We did not expect anything from them, we were planning to call them today :) So I got my Case Number and the CEAC status is READY as of November 9!!! Can't believe how fast that went!!!! Waiting now for the embassy to email us the next step (that's how they do it in Paris) while I'm filling in the DS-160.

Good day to everyone!!! One day closer to our love ones!!!!!

Congratulations!!

Please keep us posted, we are on the same boat!

1) they are asking for Wet Ink

2) You can use your own envelope, just be sure to use USPS! (not UPS, nor FedEx) Delivery address is a PO box, only USPS can deliver to PO box.

3) Yes, you can send additional info as long as it proves intention to marry! If you read the RFE carefully, it doesn't have to be a letter! It can be any info that proves your intentions. (Letter is just either to produce)

Why do when do will do? If they wanted more they would have asked for more. If you send additional there is a bigger chance of opening up a "bag of worms" and you may not like the result. Just my opinion and experience.

OP send only what is requested. Send it as outlined in the RFE (don't reinvent their system) and they require a wet ink signature on the letter.
