Mexico: Trump's immigration plan is racist

You must have missed the part about me saying the law isn't being enforced. If the companies would stop employing them they would self deport. E-verify is not fail proof. It is not the only thing needed in order to curve this problem.

It would be a big start. Lots of people are working using fake SS#'s. Fine the out of the companies that employ them.

I am all for it. Start doing something and increase the methods as needed. Put some fear into the employers and illegals.

Right now there are very few consequences for either e employers or the illegals. Why not start by having the American companies and businesses obey the law too.

Lawful permanent residents (LPRs) are foreign nationals who have been granted the right to reside permanently in the United States. LPRs are often referred to simply as "immigrants," but they are also known as "permanent resident aliens" and "green card holders."

Just grant this to anyone in the United States that crossed over in an illegal manner. with the only hope of becoming a citizen is to return to their own country and apply the way our spouses did......

That sounds unworkably complex

Would anyone come if they couldn't stay? E-verify would resolve that. There should be more communication between government agencies. It would not resolve the issue completely but it would be a start.

Or you could make E-verify mandatory and fine an employer who doesn't comply. No jobs, everyone goes home. No wall, no muss no fuss. Of course Trump wouldn't support that because his business pals wouldn't like it.

Look up E-verify. Simple solution to the problem and it would save billions in walls and deportation costs.

And no one will. They all change their tune once elected.

I doubt many would come if they couldn't work. The IRS doesn't care if you're illegal or using a false identity as long as the taxes are paid. American businesses are taking advantage of the illegals to benefit themselves. Of course no politician wants to touch that.

E-verify would be a simple, easy to implement start to address the issue. But of course no one wants to punish the law breaking business owners, it would cost them votes. But it would be a much better solution than just building a wall. Walls haven't withstood the test of time if past history is anything to go on.

What's so funny is Trump himself has used illegal immigrants in the past and continues to do so on his current projects. Yet somehow, his followers aren't bringing that up.

Because he didn't see it as an issue until he had to make it one..

E Harmony would be more likely to succeed.

Illegals are fine as long as they are making the business owners money.

I agree 100%. Do something.

I often hear it will be to hard, cost to much, never stop it, blah, blah blah. Yet look at how much time, money and resources are spent stopping drunk driving. Will drunk driving ever end? No. But, that is no reason to throw in the towel.
