Mixed opinions on documentation for citizenship under 3 year marriage rule

I have the documentation as specifically requested on the form. However, I did a search on this forum and some say they have received an RFE when they did not include additional documents.

We have tax transcripts, a copy of the front and back of his green card, a copy of my passport, and our marriage certificate.

Some say that they also sent bank statements and utility bills and insurance cards and other forms of proof similar to ROC. I don't want to send what is not asked for on the form unless I'm going to get an RFE.

What has been the majority of the experiences on this issue?

In this case, it is better to just send it now?

It won't hurt anything tossing in some bank statements, car registration and insurances... I sent couple of them with my N400 and I was asked only for my passport at my interview. Good luck.

Thanks to you both!

Hello if you can read my post its called (N-400 help) that might help you, I brought everything on the yellow letter to the interview but was never asked for those documents the officer asked for other proof of our marriage which I did not bring with me so the officer asked me to mail it in and now I am stuck waiting for a response from USCIS my advise is to bring everything with you to your interview even if you sent copies hope this helps :)

P.S. I filed base on 3 years as well and passed my interview.

You should bring all you got on the interview, you don't have to mail all of that but have them at the interview. Better be safe

We went thru this process. Same thing 3 years based on marriage. We sent them what they asked for and nothing more. At the interview they asked for some ID ( my wife's passport), her green card and that's it.The officer had all her docs from everything we had submitted during the whole process ( AOS, etc). A little chit chat. The questions. Write some sentences. The whole thing took maybe 15 minutes. Remember..you are not being asked to prove you are married. You already did that. You are not being asked if you have money. You already did that. They dont care if you own a car. You need to prove you understand english. You need to show you are an upstanding person. Whole different process..and MUCH easier.

At least that was our experience. Others may differ.

I sent in only what was specifically asked for, then brought all kinds of proof with me to the interview. I was only asked for my green card and passport, that was it.
