Hello everyone! I posted my first post already but thought I would introduce here!

My husband and I filed the 1-130 November, 2013 and we are stiiiiiilllll waiting! This process has been a lesson in patience! We are happily living in Mexico and are expecting our first child!

Which is the reason I am here, I really want our child born in the states, and it seems like everything is at a standstill (including my lawyer!) So it's time to get proactive!

Thank you in advance for any help and if I can help any of you I look forward to it!

We are already through USCIS- that took us about 8 Months...

August of 2014 we submitted our info to NVC and that is where it still sits apparently. We had to resubmit the application because they said it didn't have my social security number on it (which it did), but that was the ONLY thing that was not approved. Then when we resubmitted the application again they said my affidavit of support was not enough (it was identical to the one that was originally submitted and approved) so we had fill out an additional affidavit of support from my sister as well...

As of May 7th, 2015 everything has been closed and approved at the NVC but it has not moved from there. We have our interview if Juarez, but we call every week to Juarez and they have no new info on us because they have not received any new information.

I emailed NVC 3 weeks ago about my case status and am still waiting for a response and I call the NVC customer service number 603-334-0700 at various hours and just get hung up on saying they are on the phone...no option for hold...

My lawyer has pretty much dissappeared since the case was closed at the NVC 3 months ago...just told me that there is nothing we can do to expidite the case and that we have to wait. I understand to a point, but I want to be prepared for the interview and I think there are still things we can do now! Also, I am just really over waiting!

And yes, I am a US Citizen.

Check out http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/559617-september-2015-interviews/page-1

In the very first post there is a link to the CC to interview spreadsheet. You will see that very unfortunately, you are not the only one waiting and waiting for an interview date (for your embassy). There really is not much that can be done to speed things up unless you happen to have a good reason to expedite. Sorry for the news.

In terms of prepping for the interview, you can check the website for your embassy, they may have a list of the documents required at interview. Otherwise there is not so much that can be done. I am sitting here twiddling my thumbs too.Seems there is usually about a month between the time the interview is scheduled and when the interview takes place.

Hi,

The NVC does not approve anything. They just look to see if the submissions are sufficient to transfer the case to the US consulate. The insufficient submissions generating RFEs is what delayed part of your case.

Have your husband had his interview at the US consulate? Or is he waiting to hear about getting an interview? It's unclear from your response.

Sorry, they did not approve, they closed our case at the NVC on May 7th, 2015.

We have been waiting for the interview date since, and no news yet.
