Almost had a heart attack. Got an e-mail from the NVC a few minutes ago, jumped out of the chair without even opening.

Went on to read it. It's a response from an e-mail I sent on June 9th to AskNVC@ asking why my DS-260 isn't available considering the fee has been paid for a month.

I hope they are not busy responding to 2 month old e-mails instead of working on getting cases going....

Lol, I'm so sorry. I know how that feels. So I have learned not to jump in the air before opening and reading first. Look for email from inquiryNVC not askNVC, that's what u thought at first. But I did get the p4 letter via askNVC.

And we also experienced thus situation where they answer our questions after three months or so, when the question already resolved itself....they even answered a question after our case complete!

Hi all. I have learned over the past 12 months on this journey that perseverance is an important attribute one must have. I never gave up and I have God backing me up. If I told my wife the details of all I have gone through in the hands of USCIS and NVC, she would think I'm a superhero :)

To be honest, I wasn't expecting August interview because I thought August was filled up last month but my wife's interview is now only 7 days away! Now, we'll be on the rush to get her medicals done in the next 2 days so the result can be ready before Thursday.

We are fully aware that this "battle" in not yet over - there is one final hurdle to scale. But we believe God will perfect everything He has started in our lives. Counting down to the day I see my lovely wife again at the airport (don't know which one yet :))

Thank you dwheels and thanks to everyone on this forum. You alll rock!

It is incredible how you have to wait for I don't know how many months and all if a sudden you're in a rush! Hope you'll make it in time. Congrats!

Public Service Announcement here:

I don't know how many of you have signed up for announcements from USCIS. They are changing the way they are alerting people about system outages. Here is the email I got. You may want to check this out and change your profile if you are interested...

***********************************************************************************************

Hello from US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). We’re sending this message to you because you’re subscribed to our “Alerts” email distribution list. For a long time, we’ve used that list to tell you about outages in our online systems such as My Case Status, e-Verify, Civil Surgeon search and Online Change of Address. However, we’ve realized that people interested in our news about policy issues might not want to hear about system outages.

Therefore, we’ve created a new “Outages” list, and starting on August 20, we’ll switch to it. We won’t use the “Alerts” list for outages anymore.

If you’d like to receive e-mails about our system outages beginning August 20, please use this link to sign up for the “Outages” list.

Hey Dwheels,

Does someone need to be a permanent resident to qualify for a visa? In my case, I'm not a PR in Canada but I have a valid Work permit. Would that be enough?

Canada I believe a work permit qualifies you to interview there. That's not true of all countries. Some require permanent residency.

Your case is not in Lagos (well unless you are an expedite). NVC has it and will have it until you are scheduled (they are just stupid). It's a waiting game.

It may be in the hands of the embassy as far as its the embassy that tells NVC when to schedule and tell and when to hold up.

I just checked my case status, it says 'AT NVC' but why will it be in Lagos and status says at nvc?

#Confused#

Please don't go by anything NVC says. It will be NVC that send you the interview email. It will be NVC that schedules you. Unless you are an expedite likeoluandolu and the embassy scheduled your interview. You will remain that NVC.

it look like we have the same interview date, my wife interview is on Thursday 08/20, 6:30 am. she went for her medical on Teusday, they told her to come for the result on Monday. Goodluck

Good luck to you too bro. Where did your wife have her medicals? My wife will go to Children's Practice tomorrow because I saw on Q-life's website that it takes 5 business days for the result to be ready after an exam. That's rather too late for us.

It is incredible how you have to wait for I don't know how many months and all if a sudden you're in a rush! Hope you'll make it in time. Congrats!

Actually, I wasn't in a rush all of a sudden. I have been requesting for expedited processing since our case was at USCIS but we never had luck to get approved but I never gave up. We got it after 12 months. Besides, I haven't filed my 2014 tax. So the earlier she gets here the better.
