Names on credit card statements

7 posts in this topic

Recommended Posts

I am an authorized user on my husband's credit card account. So basically, he has a card showing his name, I have a card with the same account # showing my name. The credit card statements, however, show only his name. What did those of you who faced the same problem do? Did you just send the copies of statements in your husband's/wives names plus copies of both cards?

Also, I will blacken out the security codes on the copies of our cards. You don't think that will be a problem, right?

Thanks a bunch!

You can black out whatever you want but the US Government can find out whatever they want too so I don't know if there is much point (also you dont need a copy of the back of the card...)

As for the rest I'm not sure as we don't have joint credit cards.

I did the same thing.... copied both sets of cards showing both had cards in each name for the same account. I blacked out all but the last 4 digits and only copied the front of the cards.

Thanks for all the replies! That's what I will do then - send copies of both cards to prove that we both are users, plus a couple of statements in my husband's name to show that the card is actually being used.

Discover card does have all information on the back of the card. The front just has the Discover logo. But yeah, you are right. The government knows everything! <_<

Our AMEX bills show my name on the front but have separate listings for Joan's charges. We also made copies of each card (numbers not blacked out because as was mentioned before, the government already has those numbers). We file next month.
