In Manila... didn't have to wait for NVC to schedule interview. Was able to go on the appointment scheduler website and they had slots open on Monday 6/29! Going thru medical today, let's hope all is clear there, though wife has passed 3 separate medical exams working/living in the UAE the last 4 years and they include TB/xray stuff as well

Are you sure your case file will be at the embassy on that day?

Although the scheduler allows you to do that you really do not have a interview. Your petition is at NVC and they control the scheduling. Many have tried this and failed. You will have to wait until your turn is available. Can't jump the queue that easily. Try calling NVC and asking them if you been assigned yet. Or telling them that you scheduled yourself and release your petition. No petition at embassy no interview. Just saying

It would be great if CR1/IR1's could schedule themselves but that day has not happened at any embassy yet.

Tracking DHL now, it will be there by the end of the day on Thursday

Our case is expedited and we were able to schedule online/via phone. NVC isn't handling the scheduling of the interview since the embassy in Manila approved our expedited interview request. I assume that is what made the difference.

I was a little thrown off on it too but NVC told me to call the embassy for scheduling the interview as they aren't handling it.

Thanks for clarifying coz we don't want to spread wrong info to others whose undergoing the normal procedure (not expedited).

Good luck!

Yes thanks for pointing that out. I should have asked first was this an expedite because they are the only ones that can usually schedule their own. That's my bad. Sorry. Congratulations. :goofy:

We had MNL number from NVC. That's the first thing you get after they forward from USCIS.

We got our case expedited with help of my local congressman. They requested on basis of financial hardship. We were both working in UAE. I had to resign to re-establish my domicile and that pretty much forced her to resign from her job and return home to the Philippines. She was making good money for her but not anywhere near enough to sustain a decent living in UAE. She pretty much takes care of her family in the Philippines (parents, sister and brother who are both younger and still in school).

NVC denied request but the embassy approved and said they would expedite the interview once case is complete at NVC.

Actually that seems to be available in Scandinavia. I've been told by others with interviews at the US Embassy in Sweden that here, you get a welcome letter from the embassy with a log in to a website where you go and book your own interview. I hope it's true cause that would be awesome. :D
