i think that will depend on when your consulate gets recovered from the whole systems failure thing .... unfortunately they are apparently prioritizing nonimmigrant visas and K visas are immigrant visas :((

im pissed and want to do bad things to ppl who are responsible for this

We dont really know what they are doing and which visas they are prioritizing, except for the agricultural workers and humanitarian visas.

We dont really know who is responsible for this problem, and has no sense to get mad for it bc it wont solve anything.

It is only a matter of time for all us to see a change in our case. We have already waited sooo much, I know it is not what we expected, but waiting 1 week more wont kill us.

I felt really relieved when they solved the issue, i was really anxious bc no one knew how long they will take to solve it. Now we know they have solved it, so we can wait few days bc they must have a lot of backlog. I dont think it will be longer than a week.

Let's feel happy bc at least we know that we will get our visa soon :dancing: (last week we didnt know when we will get it)

i know its no use .. i was just saying i want someone to take responsibility and reimburse us for all the money and time we lost because of this

also i know they are prioritizing nonimmigrant visas because they only mention nonimmigrant visas in their updates ( on travel.gov and on facebook ) and avoiding answering clearly to questions regarding immigrant visas.

they have stated that they are prioritizing "high volume" posts, as well, which means if you were interviewed at a consulate where they dont normally issue a lot of visas, they wont care about fixing the problem for them as much as another post.

It is only a matter of time for all us to see a change in our case. We have already waited sooo much, I know it is not what we expected, but waiting 1 week more wont kill us.

While I understand what you are getting at with this and even agree in the abstract, I'll have to take a dissenting opinion just the same and reply "speak for yourself." Another week will put severe hardship on us because it will possibly mean that I'll need to leave my fiancé and our son behind so that I can return to work. In that scenario they'll have to make the journey to Texas by themselves only a few days later mind you (!), which will be a physical burden for us in addition to everything else. And I won't even touch the emotional stuff.

Point being that yeah, one week CAN make a huge difference, depending. And it does for us, that's certain. And moscow sure seems to be catching up rather slowly, though that could just be perception, to be fair. In the end it doesn't matter. The visa is either here in time or it isn't. It will be close, very close for us. Too close for comfort really. I mean even with all of the other delays, we would still be leaving tomorrow if the yutzes at the state department hadn't screwed up so unbelievably, remarkably, astoundingly, horribly bad.

It should have switched from Immigrant to Non-Immigrant when the creation date switched. This is good. :)

diane79, they're considered non immigrant visas, and they ARE issuing them. And the whole prioritizing and ####### for my consulate doesn't seem to apply because they've issued k1s there this week. So I'm pretty positive this isn't an issue of whether or not they are. I don't think my consulate isn't all that high volume of acceptances of visas compared to others. It's one of 2 in Ecuador, a small country compared to the others, and there are only a few other k1 visa cases there right now.

Also TBone- that doesn't help LOL! Putting our anxiety on something else 3 years down the road is not helpful! Hahah! Especially when some of us have been in this process for over 8 months!! Besides that, we actually took it before... I think I passed by a few, and Santy failed by a few, hahaha.

Ok so exactly what do y'all mean by it switching to non-immigrant and how do you check that? I went back to the CEAC website, clicked on the non-immigrant option in the drop down box, then entered the embassy and the AA number (from completing the DS-160). I saw the same information: 6/24 on BOTH dates and still in AP. Friggin frustrating! I emailed the embassy but of course they haven't replied....

That is a normal part of the approval process. It switches from Immigrant to Non-Immigrant before it is processed and issued.

Ok I still don't understand this switch to non-immigrant type thing, other than to say that I can use the AA number to get the same information that I enter when I enter the NVC case number when selecting the immigrant option on the CEAC website. And both of my dates are STILL 6/24. I'm beyond annoyed. :D

I think it means when you put your NVC case number into CEAC and it comes back with your status. At the top of the box that pops up saying "Ready" etc the heading is Nonimmigrant VISA Application. My date changed to 06/25 yesterday and it says Nonimmigrant VISA Application, though status still says Ready.

Ah ok, thanks. In that case my petition has indeed switched to nonimmigrant, as per the header at the top of the popup window.

The embassy replied to my email, asking for the details of my case. I sent them that, we'll see what they come back with.
