I've been looking and trying to find it on montreals website but I haven't found it. Am I completely blind or is it not up there?

Delays in Overseas U.S. Passport Processing

Due to a systems issue affecting global passport operations, there is currently a delay in the printing of U.S. passports that were approved at overseas passport facilities. Applications accepted at U.S. Embassies or Consulates on or after May 26, 2015 are affected by this delay. If you applied for a U.S. passport during this time frame and have travel plans within the next 10 business days, please consider requesting an emergency passport at the consulate or embassy at which you originally applied. If you need to apply for an emergency passport please contactOttawaACS@state.gov.

DAMNIT ?

I`m sorry I wish I had better news :) On the other hand since they mention the 10 days it might not be as bad as we all thought, in a long process like ours, a few weeks is peanuts. Months would be gut wrenching but I can deal with a few weeks.

Good luck with your visa either way! Do you have an interview scheduled already?

It's not your fault! What 10 days did they mention? Thank you so much, my interview is actually scheduled for June 30th and we planned our wedding for August 1st... I know you should never plan in advance until you have your visa, but we are so excited and figured a month is more then enough time to receive my passport back considering we have a very straight forward case and I am from Canada. I'm hoping that maybe this will be sorted by then otherwise I'm really nervous that if I give in my passport I won't even be able to attend my own wedding. We've already been waiting months, a few weeks is fine. Because of this now, we are cutting it really close.

Ah, the emergency passport, I see what you mean now.

The link was from the Ottawa Embassy which doesn't process K-1 visas I'm pretty sure, I also couldn't find anything about it on the Montreal website either.

I'm nervous too since I have my interview on June 25th, planning on moving July 12th and getting married August 14th. This sucks. Here is hoping it will all be settled really soon.

Yes to the above posts! I feel the same!

We got engaged feb 2014 and booked everything shortly after. We didn't know anything about timelines; we thought the k1 wouldn't take long! And it was a 5mo wait for the noa2 when we filed, which was a surprise for us (thank God we booked for way later!)

We have it set for sept 18, and an Ecuadorian wedding set for oct 17. We wanted to go on a honeymoon in Mexico after our first wedding, and obviously we need the AP to do so. We haven't booked it yet, but this delay will make it so that we won't get AP in time :( then it worries me that we won't get it in time for the EC wedding, though we have more time for that one.

Not to mention little things that my fiancé is missing such as family graduations, events, parties, wedding planning, etc. :(

Oh, and his brother & mom have tourist visa interviews this week for our wedding. Ones set to come in august, so delays for that are rough, too. :(

Blah, i really hope this delay isn't more than like a week! Maybe that's hoping for too much... :(

Printing a visa is printing a visa, no matter which embassy or type of visa it is. No use in trying to pull at straws, the State Department site says there's a software glitch (not hacking) and it's affecting all overseas visas, yes Canada is considering overseas.

Don't know whether or not to believe the software versus hack though.

Thank you!! Isn't it crazy that, at this point, we're not even super concerned about the interview but about the unknown afterwards?! :(

Yeah, I have been a little confused about if this is really because of the hack or if it is just a software glitch. I guess it doesn't matter, either way the result is the same... Idk, I kind of think it'll be resolved soon, but I can't say why... I just have a good feeling about it, which I know doesn't really meeeeeean anything..... and it may suck to get our hopes up.... but idk... if it's just a glitch, I think we can reasonably assume it won't take weeks and weeks!

If our interview is already set should we change the dates now?

I thought about it and I'm not sure what that would do really. This problem will take however long it needs to be fixed regardless of your interview date. Might as well get in line, right?

Also, I see Charleston is your local office.... I live there!! :goofy:

Why would you reschedule? I wouldn't. They delay could be a couple of days or weeks. The longer you put off your interview, the further to the back of the line you'll be.

Our interview is in mid July, hopefully they will fix whatever needs to be fixed.

I am the Beneficiary ☺ and my fiance used to live there (Charles town) but recently moved to CA.
