Hi, I am bringing in 1 yr worth of hypertension meds (360 pcs) to save on cash and,I heard it's expensive on the US. Am,bringing is generics not branded meds. Is prescription really required? Do they scrutinize the meds and the rx that goes with it? Thanks for your advice.

In Manila, we buy by tablets. We don't have bottles with our name on it. The packaging of my meds is 100 tabs per box. So i will carry 4 boxes.

Yes, the prescription from your doctor is required. Better safe than sorry. You wouldn't want to mess with airport officials, right?

My husband brought his medicines too and he has prescription from his cardiologist. If they ask what's in your bags don't forget to mention that you have prescribed medicine inside. Make sure you put it in a clear ziplock bag and put the prescription inside with it.

He brought in his carry-on bag only the pills that he's supposed to take during the flight.

I brought in 4+ months worth of blood thinners - original packaging, did NOT have my name on it. Did have my doctor's prescription for it and another note because they're injections so liquids plus needles. No one ever asked me about the drugs, didn't take them out for scanning.
