Will the CEAC tracker tell me when it's at the embassy or is it only NVC updates? I got my case number on the 11th but it still hasn't shown up on CEAC. Just curious if it says when my Embassy has received. My case left NVC yesterday. Thanks!

When your case leaves NVC the tracker will display "In Transit" Once the embassy receives it and updates their system it should read "Ready" on the CEAC tracker.

Thanks! I guess I just have to keep waiting until it shows up in the system. I just get the error message.

Mine took 2 or 3 days before it actually showed up. I was kind of worried thinking maybe I was doing something wrong or had a wrong number, but it showed up within a few days. Once it said that it had shipped about a day later I was able to track the shipment with the DHL tracking tips posted at the beginning of this thread.

2 weeks after NOA-2, call NVC: (603) 334-0700 (best times: 7 am EST or midnight EST). It may take about 20-40 calls to get put in the waiting line, and the wait time can be about 40 minutes - don't give up, plan to do something else in the meanwhile. :) Listen carefully to the menu options.

Have both petitioner and beneficiary names and birthdays available, as well as USCIS case number.

Ask if NVC has received your case yet and has assigned their number (it will be like MOS2015000000, the first three letters being letter abbreviation code for the embassy, then year 2015, then some kind of 6-digit ID)

If you get that number, write it down.

If no, repeat the whole thing in a week.

Using this number you can track your status all the way to "ready at the embassy" on CEAC website here: https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx Note that it may take 2-3 days for your number to actually start registering in the system, and you may get an error for the first couple of days - this is normal.

Thank you so much for your help.. I will call in two weeks :) ..

I have kind of a dumb question lol..........does anyone know how to make a post on our fiance's actual country's forum here on VJ. For example: I want to post some questions specific to Brazil in the Brazil forum or portal or whatever it's called...but unlike in the regular forum, it doesn't give me the option to creat a post. Am I missing something?? hahaha

Once it said that it had shipped about a day later I was able to track the shipment with the DHL tracking tips posted at the beginning of this thread.

Same here! Mine took 6 days (called on Friday, the case was assigned on Thursday, just started seeing the status today, on Wednesday). I actually thought the number was wrong, and I played around with transposing digits, seeing if that would get me anywhere (you know, 662 vs 626)... lol. But today it showed up.

When your case leaves NVC the tracker will display "In Transit" Once the embassy receives it and updates their system it should read "Ready" on the CEAC tracker.

I think this part is different for different embassies. For Russia, "Ready" means NVC is done with it, then it goes to "In Transit", and then to "Administrative Processing", which actually means that the embassy has it and you can schedule the interview.

Hi all!

So we got our NOA2 earlier this week, so probably things are moving a lot quicker now...

I have a question, which i would like to direct to those of you who got there interview date already.

Did you guys have the option to choose the date of your interview? If so, how was this possible? Online, via a call to the embassy...

I have a biiiig problem if they appoint a date before 28th of September.

Thanks!!!

This is definitely different by country; I believe you can choose in Belgium, but you're better off asking this in the regional forum, perhaps.

Also: NOA2 is good for 4 months - so by mid-October you must have the interview. Just make sure you know you'd be cutting it close and have a back-up plan.

I hope everyone is having a great day !

Question-if I leave my job right now and get a job right away with no unemployment in between.. Cuz I found a better job with better pay would it affect my petition when my fiancée gets an interview and ask for employment history and support ? Do you think they will deny the visa because of that ? Thank you!

Btw it's so hard getting a hold of NVC phone line .. Stressful! :/

Hi all, new here :) ive been looking around VJ for a while now for tips and finally decided to join the forum. I'm pregnant and filing for my mexican fiance and am in a bit of a hurry hoping I can get this process done before my baby is born in October so that we can both be in the USA by that time! I'm past the NOA2 so figured I'd start posting here.

Filed I29-f: 4/7

Noa1: not sure, will update.

Noa2: 5/14

Called Nvc yesterday and was told They had barely recieved it 6/14 and Got the standard answer that it will take about 4 weeks to get a case number... I'll be calling back tonight to check again!
