Good Morning,

I posted in another forum, lots of views but no replies. Most my post in that forum are unanswered. So I thought I try this on. People are talking on other threads,. I am sorry for the semi-repost,

My process seems to be stuck. I received a letter (first of February) saying the NVC received my packet and next step they will send it to the consulate and contact my fiance. The process can take several weeks. I thought the process is slow, but my finacee has a friend that started about the same time as her and is already in the USA.

My fiance did move before the I-129F, and I called the consulate to let them know of the address change. They had me make a profile for her, and put her information in it. I have heard nothing since. I did call since that and tried to ask but they just babbled. My fiance has heard nothing either.

According to the guide on the site, my fiance should have already gotten an appointment as her friend did. I expect to at least heard something ,whether it's process or on hold for something.

I really don't know what to do, I'm at my wits end.

Thanks for the time,

-J

Ok, so I really cant tell you much about what to do, other than keep calling, putting in a service request and asking them where in the world it could be.

There was a case a few months back when a petition got sent to the wrong place, but you say you heard from them?

Have you called to find out about your invoice number, beneficiary ID and case number (all of which are assigned by NVC)? If you have those numbers, you can track your case on CEAC (apparently) to see where it is.

You could also call the embassy and ask if they ever got it.

You can also check out the post NOA2 threads for August, September or October, those people are either past the NVC or dealing with the NVC. If you ask directly in the forum, maybe you are more likely to get an answer?

I hope it shows up soon!

Seeing as its been this long, the petition should be at the consulate by now. I was wondering if there is a possibility that they sent the packet 3 to her old address?

Try to send them an email inquiry. I read they are very responsive here:

http://hongkong.usconsulate.gov/visa_inquiry_form.html

Give them the case number that NVC provided and ask if they have the papers and if they can resend the packet 3 since beneficiary never got it.

Good luck

Nvc processed our case within two weeks, really shouldn't take that long.

I received my checklist over email, sure you put in the right email when you made that account?

dont be worry, every case is diferent, in my case for example i waited 4 months after the nvc forwarded my case to the embassy, and they contacted me via email, at the end they will contact your fiance, all what you can do is try to email the embassy and try to call them, good luck

Though every case is different and no one can be sure,

but even cutting some slack for the case being held up a bit here and there,

waiting for consulate to contact your fiancee for 3 months seems way out of line.

I don't know if it's same for Hong Kong, but my fiancee (at the time) in Shanghai,

received her packet 3 via express mail from Guangzhou embassy 18 days after

NOA2 was issued.

I highly suspect that packet 3 was sent to the old address...

1) and the worst scenarios is if the packet was delivered (vs. returned),

embassy thinks it's your fiancee's turn to continue the processing.

2) if the packet was returned, it may sit around until they can figure out if there was

a address change...that is if they didn't lose it...and after awhile the case could return

back to NVC as undeliverable.

I wouldn't patiently wait in your case...in fact I would contact both NVC and embassy

ASAP and

1) Ask for case update

2) and make triple sure that they have her new address.

Also, I thought there was a way to track the delivery package between NVC to embassy,

but since I didn't had to do it...I forget the details... anyone???

Hi DesertJason,

It's my first time posting...not even sure I'm doing it right.

I am delayed at the NVC, too. My situation seems slightly different, though. I thought I'd share just in case it's helpful.

My I-129F California NOA2 is dated April 16 (~33 days ago) and I'm still waiting on the NVC to acknowledge receipt and issue a case number. When I called today I was told to email NVCResearch at state dot gov with a scanned image of the NOA2 and the NOA2 Receipt number in the subject line. The agent told me that they could help track it down.

I'm also expecting them to send the docs to the Hong Kong consulate eventually. I hope there isn't any particular problem with sending things to Hong Kong now...

Good luck - please post here again as you learn more.

Todd

Tbqh, I'd have the fiance enquire about it too. They might just be blowing you off because you're not the one receiving the papers. All of this at this point is more between your fiance and the cosulate.

But call call call. That's the only way to get it done.
