finally! after 70 days I got my biometrics appointment letter today! scheduled on aug14 :joy::joy::joy:

There is a pride most will never understand, it is a series of late night phone calls, I miss yous, see ya laters, sexy dress blues, lots of tears, endless prayers, care packages & love letters, countdowns, homecomings, best friends you've never met, dog tags, Skype dates: a military thing, you will never understand.

Yup I did, I called them July15 and told me to wait 15 to 30 more days, but yesterday I got my biometrics letter with some info about my service request.

Definitely call if it's been that long. I'm still waiting for my appointment (filed May 19)...I started calling early July, took two weeks worth of calls to finally get a service request in...

I actually made an INFOPASS appointment last Friday and spoke to what I assume was an officer (Yakima Field Office - WA). He said there is a backlog of 50K cases in the California Service Center (I don't know if just for ROC or for other stuff too). He said all I can do is wait at this point. He also said that if my biometrics are found to be current (I did do fingerprints for a I-131 application on Jul. 16) USCIS would just continue processing and not send me anything in the mail. How accurate is this?

Just an update...my wife is a may 26th filer. On July 14th she finally got someone to open a service request. They told her the response could tale 15-30 days. As of right now it's been 21 days. It's driving us crazy.

If they are "backlogged by 50k" it doesn't seem like they are doing things effeciently. By all accounts it still looks lake they skipped over the last 10 days of May, and many June filers already got their biometrics scheduled and finished.

Anyway, if we don't get a response to the service request by the end of the week we will be calling them, yet again.

Not to sound like a jerk, but you should try reading through the thread. Basically everyone from late May is still waiting for bio

No you dont sound like jerk. Like you I am a seasoned member of VJ so I do read. I did look at the spreadsheet. a) sometimes people disappear off the threads and never update their info b) My question was "Is this normal" A thousand people could be having the same issue but does this account for what is considered normal? Not because its happening to everyone means its normal.

Well, it's definitely not normal to wait this long for the bio appt letter after getting the NOA letter. But, for the people posting on VJ who filed in late May, this appears to be normal. Up until a week ago nobody from late May had received a bio appt, but recently one or two have. Hopefully this means they are finally getting their stuff together.

We filed May 20 and are still waiting but I haven't called yet because It's my husband's application and they wont talk to be unless he's there. Is there truly a real rush to get the Bio appointment? Does that put you in the queue for the next step? I haven't felt the need to stress over this because it seems lots of other people are in the same boat. If there's a 50K backlog I'm sure calling isn't going to push my case any.


USCIS - 66 days ROC - 139 days from sent to approved
12/3/2012 - I-130 delivered to Chicago 5/20/15: mailed I-751 package to California office
12/4/2012 - NOA1 NBC (Missouri Service Center MSC) 5/22/15: Date on NOA1
12/6/2012 - Check cashed 8/26/15: Bio appointment

12/8/2012 - Received paper NOA1 10/06/15: Received Email card was being processed
12/20/2012 - Case number showed up on USCIS website
1/29/2013 - Called USCIS and case is still at NBC
2/8/2013 - Received an Email that we were approved on 2/7/13
3/5/2013 - Told file may have been "misplaced" to email NOA2 to NCVresearch
3/7/2013 - ISO at the USCIS opened a service request to try to track down
if and when the file was shipped. Should hear something before 3/26 ( so she said)

NVC - 119 days NVC to Visa in hand
03/11/2013: NVC received (31 days from NOA2 at USCIS till received at NVC )
03/25/2013: NVC Case no. assigned
03/27/2013: Paid AOS fee (shows paid 3/29/13)
04/01/2013: AOS Sent
03/27/2013: Received IV Bill
03/27/2013: Paid IV Bill (shows paid 3/29/13)
04/01/2013: Sent IV Packet
04/02/2013:IV Packet Delivered
04/16/2013: Case Complete (37 days from received to case complete)
04/16/2013: Received Case Complete Email

05/13/2013: NVC status "In Transit"

051/20/2013: NVC status "Ready"
06/24/2013: Interview date - Orange card... wanted copy of USC passport

07/08/2013: Visa received in the mail

08/03/2013: POE

Same, I'm putting my feet up and awaiting next May, when I can file N-400 and force them to locate my misplaced application.

We have our I-797s extending our status so why worry?
