Did I make a mistake? USCIS vs DCF

I'm just wondering if i have made a mistake filing our I-130 petition to the Chicago lock-box instead of doing a Direct consular filing in Amman Jordan. I did qualify to have applied our I-130 application in the American Embassy in Amman however they told me they start taking in application in mid July, which is why i decided to go through USCIS instead. I mailed the petition in mid march, I was told by a friend earlier today that i should have waited until July to do a direct consular filing she says it would have been much faster. So do you guys think its faster to have sent in the application to the chicago lockbox in mid march or should i have waited until July to do a DCF?

DCF is much faster, even if you would have had to wait until July.

Yes i have lived here since i was 12. do you think DCF processing in less than 5 months? and do u think its possible to get the case transferred to amman embassy?

DCF usually takes around a month or two from the day you file until visa issuance, excluding AP.

The case you've already filed cannot be changed to DCF.

There's nothing stopping you from withdrawing it and re-filing DCF.

You should probably contact the embassy first and confirm when they will start processing DCF again before you do this, though.

They will start to process sometime after July 4th. I just was scouring through VJ forums and ran across a Jordanian who have gone through DCF. Some state Administrative Process takes a very long time. So still not quite sure if DCF will be faster than USCIS. My Husband has traveled and lived for 6+ months in 4 different countries, this means he has to get a certificate of good conduct from 4 different countries. This may extend AP i'm assuming.

Does DCF still have to go through NVC? or do they handle that on their own?

Thank You for the info. I think i might just stick it out and hope the process is over within 9 months. I was told average processing time is around 9 - 11 months.

DCF is almost certainly going to be faster (even with the delay), but of course it's up to you. It will be a year or so just for the I-130 approval.

OMG thank so much for the link !! but i still don't understand what is the process for expedited processing or how i can speed up the process. I have posted in that forum hopefully someone experienced could provide answers.
