you can do it right now.

Complete the SS-5 online, here is the link:

https://www.socialsecurity.gov/forms/ss-5.pdf

Fillout and print your I-94, here is the link:

https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/I94/request.html;jsessionid=NsRGV3WP6Y6Z3K5rFLQbgBnhmdJmTQhWpJCkRPCmQXrL2HwBMG8H!975261647

Bring your passport, and original marriage certificate. In 4-5 working days you will get your Social Security Card (Either on your maiden or married name)

You can just visit any SSA office near you without appointment. Here is the link:

Good luck. :)

You need your SSN when applying for a driver's license. You also need it for

your spouse to be able to add you to his/her medical insurance benefit.

When you receive your SSN card, it will have a restriction written on it. NOT VALID TO WORK WITHOUT DHS AUTHORIZATION which is your EAD. Once you get your green card, you will need to go back to permanently remove the restriction.

I hope this helps :)

Nothing :) lol

I plan to send a copy of the Employment letter early next week and request to expedite EAD. I will wait 2-3 working days, for the USCIS to receive my biometrics. There is no harm in requesting to Expedite EAD. I will keep you posted :)

Don't worry! You will find one. Just start sending resumes now. I started sending my resume couple of days I arrived. Yes, I got 4-5 calls who did not proceed with my In-Person Interview but I found one which was willing to wait for my EAD to come out. Just be honest about our visa status as not to waste people's time :) But I am telling you, it is worth it :)

Thanks for your info! :) I will definitely try to send out resumes in the next few days and hope I can find something ... if not I'll just try again once I get my EAD.

And congratulations for your successful biometrics walk in today. :)
