So, even though there is no need for it other than tracking, I did call the NVC tonight. After 8 months of nothing at TSC, the idea that I can actually track my case through these next steps makes me happy. After about 1 hour listening to that great music, I had a really nice lady answer. She said they received my case today, but it hasn't been entered yet. She gave me the 35 day spiel, but I'll probably try to call back sometime next week to see if there is a case number :)

How long did it take for the file to be received by the NVC? My file was sent tonight. By when should I call to get my case number?

My case was sent last Friday, 5/29, so it took them 1 week to receive it. I will call back mid-late next week to see if there is a case number assigned.

Thanks a lot! Call on Monday again, don't wait until the middle of the weeks. There have been so many cases where the case number was assigned and the officer didn't give it to them! Best of luck!

Congratulations to everyone who were approved☺

Am stil in the waiting game, so am excited to see all October filers approved.

I had a question tho. Has anyone ever switch from a k1 to a k3 before? Would the whole process start over? Any help would be greatly appreciated?

passport sized photos, 5x5cm or 2x2 inches. You upload the photo online, alternatively, bring passport photos to the embassy (like I will, because none of my uploaded pictures passed the requirement haha)

Hey Caro,

good luck to you on Monday. How do you like this hot weather? I think I caught a bad cold.

our interview is on Wednesday . I am freaking out, lol. I want this ordeal to be over. We have a folder with all our info ready. I am going over and over and I am second guessing myself.

We do not need 2x2 photos anymore because they were taken last Wednesday at the VAC, along with the fingerprints. right?

Do we nee to bring duplicates (Xerox copies) of the original documents we bring: birth certificate, affidavit, etc.

Good luck to everyone. May all your dreams come true, soon.

Sorry not a September filer but i like looking at this thread because some of you are at the same stage as me - I'm an october filer.

I just called and they said my case was received on the 5th so I'm just waiting for them to process it and assign a case number etc.

The lady on the phone wasn't overly helpful but ill try calling back over the next few days to see if i can get my case number.

Anyway i noticed our cases were sent to NVC on the same day and its so exciting that we will be able to track the progress soon, i feel like I've been in visa-limbo since the approval by USCIS.

Anyway good luck :)
