Hi guys, I am posting it here because I know that most of you have filed for your parents for immigrant visa. I do have questions for all of you. My father was born in the Philippines. The city he was born at was burned down, so he wasn't able to get a copy of his birth certificate anymore. He went to get a copy at the NSO...he got NO RECORD FOUND. That is the only copy that he has right now. But the thing is, he was able to use that to get his passport,. He has a passport for 8 years now.

What can I do or use to prove that he is my father?, because I know that I will need to submit my BC and his BC as proof that we are father and daughter when I file for I-130. Please help if you know a way on how I can continue or ways that I can do. Thank you so much for the response!

IR-5 Timeline (Petitioning both of my parents from Philippines)

1/14/2017 - Mailed Petition to Chicago Lockbox

1/18/2017 - Petition Received

1/25/2017 - Received text and email notification that case was accepted and routed to Texas Service Center

1/27/2017 - Check cashed and received NOA1 in the mail

hi same with my moms situation. But the only difference is my mom has no passport ever since. When i told her to get her BC there was no record, so what they did is they went to their local civil registrar and applied for late registration. And after about a month my mom got her NSO birth certificate. So for me, i suggest that tell your that to go your local civil registrar and bring his no record BC that they got and his current passport. For sure the LOcal civil registrar will tell you what to do and what things he need to get for him to get his NSO birth certificate

Hi Ms. PreciousOne. When you say Local civil Registrar, is that the municipality where they were born? Thank you so much with these info!
