But I do not think that they are currently scheduling interviews so your guess is as good as anyone elses.

I gathered by this info, and because we fall into this category that his interview would be available to attend. Clearly we're not allowed to make our own appointments, London does that for you.. so I assumed this section is applicable. Not looking to know how long it takes to have an interview from the medical, only how long it takes for the appointment letter to arrive at the beneficiary home.

I haven’t booked my nonimmigrant visa appointment yet/need to reschedule – when will I be able to do that?

If you signed and submitted the DS-160 online application prior to June 9, 2015, you may schedule an appointment, if one is available. You should note, however that your application will take two to three weeks to process.

Yuna , I don't think the above paragraph is addressed to K1s. I think they are speaking to the ones who just ring up or go online and pick an appointment date. That would be tourists, students, interns, media, athletes, performing artists, efc. (The ones who get the N ticket/sticker on interview day and speak with the NIV interviewers.)

Yes. We submitted on the 6th of June.

Then I think you should be ok with still getting an appointment. We waited 7 1/2 weeks for our intrperbiew after his medical and that was without a glitch. Hopefully by the time you interview things will have cleared up....the back log is what I'm most worried about right now. Really it will depend on how fast they move those visas out after the system is up and running. Hoping you get some news soon....the unknown is the worst part.

I don't think they are clearly addressing K1 situations. The K1s, as usual, are are the oddball hybrid step-children who are clearly considered "immigrant" by London when it comes to procedures, yet their form is the DS-160.

Will they schedule an interview? Yes, I think so, but maybe not as fast as when things were normal slow, rather than technical issues slow. Can they really not access the DS-160s? They mention to the immigrants the DS-260 is "iffy" now but keep trying. Seems like those applications would be part of the same system. I have read of others who have done the DS-160 successfully this week.

As far as something to be hopeful for, the visa is coming. But if you have your expectations revved up to super speed "I want it next week dammit", well then you are setting yourself up for possible disappointment.

It's not that really, we're just exhausted by everything. I'm trying to book a very complex wedding.. and have decided to push it back to September 30 to be safer. I hope that will be enough time for everything. He's under enormous strain at work and wants some good or hopeful news to keep his spirits up.

I don't suppose printing out an entire copy of his DS160 would assist? He did file it pre Jun 9th afterall and has his confirmation printed out. Silly thought really..

If I hear someone ask how long this is going to take one more time......

When should you be able to see the status of the visa on: https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker? Got my LND number on Monday but still says "your search did not return any data"

CEAC doesn't work for us yet still. But I just called NVC and they mailed it to the embassy yesterday. So yours should on its way soon if not already!

I understand how this has taken a toll. Pushing it back to late September is a good move I think to take the pressure off. A new date to set your sites on. Then again, they always say don't plan anything until you have the visa. Stuff happens...and happens...and happens it seems to this particular group. Things you never imagined.

Printing out copy of DS-160. Sure. I thought the same thing myself when I was wondering if they really can't access the DS-160s or if that is some poorly worded info to the NIVs. Why not, whether it comes in useful or not? They used to approve on paper forms. We had four paper forms actually, plus the paper checklist to show we were ready.

Yes. We submitted on the 6th of June.

We actually just got our interview letter today for July 20th and he had his medical on June 5th, so took about 2 weeks.

Interview is actually on my birthday, go figure! But, anyway, good news is that, yes, they are still scheduling interviews.

I have just been poking around twitter. Found a K1 that is wondering if appointment letters are still being sent out. The answer was, they are.

Yuna, as you know from the VJ progress thread, I got my interview letter today, 10 days after the medical. My interview is scheduled for 20th July, 5 weeks and 6 days after the medical. However, I had submitted my DS-160 before the meltdown date of June 9th so I don't know how much difference that makes compared with those that submitted their DS-160's after then.

I suspect that interviews are still going ahead and being scheduled. The issue seems to be with the printing of the visas and possibly accessing the database that holds the DS-160 records. Whether that affects scheduling interviews for those that submitted DS-160's after June 9th I don't know. I would hope they would still schedule interviews because they will end up with a huge backlog otherwise.
