Per the London embassy. At least for my case this gives me hope. We will see though

If you attended an immigrant or fiancé(e) visa interview prior to June 9, please be aware that the average processing time is 10-15 working days. However, in light of these technical issues, we ask that you allow additional time. The courier company will contact you by email with information about how to track your delivery as soon as your visa has been printed and delivery arrangements have been made. There is no mechanism for checking the status of your application until that time.

I think you will be fine. You're right at the high end of length of time for normal processing. If they add a couple more days to that I would bet sometime early next week at the latest for you or anyone approved before the 9th that doesn't have the Visa in hand yet.

Most have been told 3-4, and a few people less for it to come through.

You can't go by that. They don't know. They are guessing...hoping.

If i were to get approved, and take my passport with me, what would happen then?

You would have to go back to the UK, contact the courier to pick up your passport to take to the embassy, they put the visa in and give to the courier to return to you.

Its such a crappy position im put in here, theres really no winning.

Agree

I wasn't aware you could do that passport thing.

I've been speaking with my fiancee, she's having a hard time, but beyond everything, she wants me home forever asap. With the baby and house, and money, I just need to be home permanently as soon as I can. She's having the issues which come with pregnancy, and that's only going to get worse.

It's really hard thinking of the wedding. How I could miss it, but I need to think of the long run. Of my family, our future.

Its a horrible position to be in, and there's not really a good choice. I really don't know what to do.

I hate any of us are going through this. And I hate that you are going through it with the pregnancy and all. I hope you are able to find a solution as to what is best for you guys. :(

So how big is the wedding? Are we talking 250 guests, dinner, dance, bridesmaids, caterers, big shindig? What is the date again? How many from UK attending? I need some perspective here.

25 people, a venue at her old college (Butler), nothing big or fancy at all, no bridesmaids, catered mostly by us, photography booked and payed for, my Dad and his wife coming from UK. Saturday 25th of July at 1pm.

Work on a Plan B. Maybe the photographer is booked for Saturdays, but can do a Friday or Sunday afternoon do. See what kind of progress happens on the visa front.

I was thinking about the weddings for my daughters where I had to book a year in advance to get the reception venue, caterer, florist, cake lady and photographer of choice all on the same date. And the church. I bet her Mom can fix it somehow if needed.

If worst comes to the worst, we will look at plan B. Just gotta live in hope!

I really do appreciate your presence on these forums Nich-Nick, you have helped a lot.

Just a bad situation, that certainly chose its time to pop up!

Just FYI for anyone wondering where the information came from- the person who interviewed my fiancé at the embassy told him 3-4 weeks. Regardless of whether the embassy knew what they were talking about- that's where the 3-4 weeks came from. Not wishful thinking but what we were told from the staff at the embassy.

Even though it sucks- if perchance you can't make it for the wedding- the upside is you haven't made any expensive down payments and could move the date if it came to that. Has you dad already booked his plane tickets? If not- I would try to ride this out & as you said- go home for good when you do. Then you won't have to think about leaving your fiancée again. That's become a mantra for me...once he's here he's here to stay ?

This reference is that "they', the interviewers in London, can't possibly know exactly how long a worldwide issue will take to get resolved and back online in my opinion. Apologies for using a vague pronoun.

At one point it was estimated that it was going to be fixed over last weekend. Does it sound logical to anybody else that they would be working on it at the State Department headquarters in the US and not in London? Of course they aren't leaking much information about the scope of what they are doing.

But I do not think that they are currently scheduling interviews so your guess is as good as anyone elses.
