POE for IR1 on 2-year anniversary - or after?

My husband's interview is April 28th. Our 2-year anniversary is May 25th. Assuming he's approved, he wants to wait until our anniversary for POE to get the IR1 instead of CR1 green card.

Here's the question: If his POE is ON our 2 year anniversary, will he get the IR1, or does it have to be AFTER our 2 year anniversary?

We share a car, so for his POE I'll need to pick him up and take him to the bridge. This year, May 25th happens to be Memorial Day, and I'll have that day off work, so that would be pretty convenient to do it that day (and catch the tail end of the big memorial day music festival in El Paso!).

But if there's any doubt, if a cranky CBP officer could say it needs to be after our anniversary, we'd rather just wait another day or until that weekend. So, does anyone have experience with trying POE exactly on the day of your second anniversary?

i suggest at least 5 days after. if can do it the next weekend, i think perfect.

sure, USCIS calendar math sucks, but think if you get stuck at CBP calendar math, instead?

must remind the CBP human, fwiw, to flip to IR-1 designator at the border crossing, tell them to change it in their computer whilst he's in secondary.

Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.
