My siblings who are green card holders overstayed their stay outside the US for more than 5 years. They applied for return visas at the embassy but their applications were rejected even though the overstay was out of their control. I had to send new I-130 for all of them but that process will take a very long time.

They are interested in coming back as soon as possible. What can they do? should I hire a lawyer for them here?

no lawyer needed, just a new set of I-130s.

Well, for starters, they won't be coming back as soon as possible. That shipped has sailed 5 years ago. Depending which country they're from, it will be between 13-24 years before they're back.

SB-1 only works if applicant was in a coma.

According to your previous topic, http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/529561-expedite-process/#entry7409233there was no mentioning of siblings being LPR but now you state they were? You wanted to expedite their processing which is not possible....

There is nothing inconsistent about the OP's posts. Sometimes, the truth comes in bit by bit.

A lawyer can not expedite the I-130s you have filed.

A lawyer could help with the abadonment issue if things were actually out of their controls for 5 years. It better be good - all in comas, sick, etc.

Maybe others, wants to know how to speed things up or slow them down.
