I sent off my RFE packet to CSC today. They will have it tomorrow. Exactly 2 weeks from the date I found out.

The timeline on the RFE so far is about a week from finding out on 4/7 to actually getting the letter in the mail to know what the issue was. The said it was "mailed" 4/7 but I don't think so because CSC is about 20 minutes from me with no traffic. I got on this the following day after knowing it was about the dating site issue and called Cherry Blossoms. They sent an original signed letter from Hawaii (3 days by Priority Mail). I also had Melanie send a Statement of Facts regarding her Cherry Blossoms account and that she did not pay to be on the site and that they did not collect any of her personal info. She sent by DHL Express as soon as she could and I got he documents yesterday.

So a week to get the letter and a week to collect everything.

I figure the NOA2 will take another 10-14 days after they get it matched back to the file and approve it if everything is OK.

So, as a ballpark/educated guess, it looks like an RFE adds about 30 days to the timeline if you get one. Hoping we get back on track and she has visa in hand by mid-June. Our anniversary of when we first met is July 4th. Last year I was there and we met for the first time. This year its on a Saturday and would be super cool if she came here for that weekend and we can celebrate beginning our life together on our 3rd anniversary.

If that doesn't work out, it's not the end of the world. We had really budgeted the timeline to have visa in hand sometime mid-August based on processing times at the beginning of the year. So we just consider any extra time together a blessing. :)

hopefully it will just take them a week or less to send your noa2. :) goodluck on your journey! cheers!

The copy I gave him on a recent visit fit nicely in a folder. At a minimum I think I would carry a copy of the i-129f and any NOAs that we have received. This way they could easily look up information if they had concerns with anything he said in the interview.

Reality probably is you will not need it but our visits are precious so we come prepared to ensure he makes it thru.

I have traveled to so many countries and I've never been asked anything. I get questioned when I come back to the U.S.

I had only been to UAE. The UAE border agent stamped my passport and then asked as I was walking away, "Oh, are you here for tourism or to stay?" I was thinking, "Aren't you supposed to ask me that first?" Then when I returned to US, the border agent asked me where I worked. I had to ask her to repeat it because I was surprised of this question.

She also asked me if I visited UAE alone, and I told her I traveled alone, but I was visiting my fiance who is from Afghanistan. When she didn't ask any other questions, I thought, "Wow, she didn't grill me on the whole Afghan thing, huh?" As I walked away, I realized she probably thought I meant my fiance was serving in Afghanistan, not that he was from Afghanistan. *shrug* Hey, I was honest! I could have left the country of origin out, but I wanted to be transparent, and that time it paid off!

I've never been questioned in UAE, but the immigration officers look at me weird every time! I think they see my place of birth was Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, and wonder what that's about. Haha. I've had immigration officers in Qatar and Malaysia very intrigued by that, and they have asked about my background, but not what I'm doing in their country. So amusing.
Once, my fiance was visiting his family in UAE and the immigration officer saw that he was born in Abu Dhabi and the guy was like, "Welcome home!" My fiance was like, "well that's a first!"

I sent a email a few days/weeks ago and got this automatic reply.

Thank you for contacting the California Service Center National Customer Service Center (NCSC) Follow Up e-mail account. This account has been established to assist customers who have already contacted the NCSC number (1-800-375-5283). Therefore, if your “O” or “P” petition inquiry relates to an emergency situation, it will not be necessary for you to contact the NCSC.

If you have already contacted the NCSC and have either not received a response within 15 days or feel the response was insufficient, please ensure your submission contains the following information (you may send a follow-up email including this information if it was not included in your first request to this e-mailbox):

· The service request management tool (SRMT) inquiry number that you were given when you called the NCSC,

o If you have called the NCSC and they informed you they are unable to complete a SRMT please provide a brief explanation.

· The date that you contacted the NCSC, and

· Your name and receipt number and/or A-number.

The California Service Center will review your e-mail and respond through this e-mail account or through the US Postal Service.
