Oh God, you guys, the tears are already starting to flow on Issam's family's part. This is going to be really hard on them and I feel so bad!!! Aaaacckk!! It's awful because I'm so happy and excited and they're all sad and weepy. We aren't even leaving until Tuesday and there's that big party we're having on Sunday. Any advice??? I feel terrible!!!

Cry with them.

My fiancés mom has already cried about him leaving. I felt so bad when he told me about it. I know when we leave it will be even harder on them. I'm just praying that I can be supportive enough. There will be a lot of mixed feelings I'm sure for him on the flight back.

Just copied and pasted my thread, maybe someone will find number 3 helpful.

So, my fiance went to an interview today and the consular officer asked for 3 things that were not mentioned on the official website for documents needed for K1 visas (fiance)

1. Your publications in university or at work (what did he mean?) he mentioned something like resume, will it work? (my fiance is 25 and he just finished University in Russia)

2. Your list of classes (does it have to be official from university like with dean's signature and stuff, does anyone know?)

3. Our skype screenshots (my boyfriend gave CO photographs, facebook screenshots, my tickets and other things but the only thing missing at the time of the interview - CO asked for and said that my boyfriend has to send that to him. We literally had A LOT of evidence)

So, my question is, why didn't the embassy put the list of documents needed on the website? And will my boyfriend get approved of K1 visa or not when he'll bring all of those documents? Because CO said that he'll look and the documents missing and then decide if my boyfriend get's approved or not. And my boyfriend is a computer science major.

My mom would also be happy for me if I were the one leaving. Igor's sister has already married and left living in Switzerland, and now he is leaving for America. I can understand her sadness a little given that both of her children will be living far away. He hopes to get a really good job here in America and be able to petition for his parents later if they wish to come here. I'm sure his mom will want to.

Wow, that is strange. Does he already have a job offer in US? or continuing his education here? Sounds like questions for two entirely differ visa types.

As to #3, given all the other evidence why would he even need the Skype screen shots? Were you able to go to the interview? To me it sounds like this CO was being unreasonable. :(

Nope, I couldn't go. I have summer class + we thought that its better if I'll not go since there is no really point. And I have no idea why he asked for skype, maybe I sent one screenshot at USCIS, that's why? I just didn't want to waste paper, so I said to my boyfriend that probably we have enough evidence already... Apparently we hadn't :(

And he doesn't have any job offers in USA and he is not continuing an education in Russia.

I just have a feeling that they are more strict now with whatever is going on in Ukraine.

Have you looked at other reviews from interviews at the Russian consulate? The fighting has intensified lately in Donbas, but that should not have any bearing on a fiance visa. So sorry to hear that you guys are going through this. :(
