Good news guys! We just finished our interview and were approved :)

Congratulations!

Please share your embassy and interview experience with the rest of us. There are several here concerned with issues such as proof of income/tax returns and proof of relationship. If you can share your real life experience, perhaps it will keep them from freaking out and calm them down a bit. :)

Thanks! :) it was a very good experience at the embassy. It was a little bit chaotic at first but it went well in the end. We were done after 3 hours. We were never asked about proof of relationship maybe because i was with my F. (Lol yeah the huge stack of logs we had werent useful. Not even the photos) we werent asked about the wedding. Just answered simple questions like when and how we met. :)

I did notice that if the annual salary didnt make the poverty level they will ask a lot of questions. Although i didnt see anyone applying for k1 who got denied so its all good :)

It was a fairly easy interview. I dont why i was even nervous. Lol. Final interview just lasted 2 mins. Haha!

Goodluck to you guys. And thanks again :)

I think mine came rather quickly from the text. Maybe 7-12 days.

I think we need a copy for the embassy interview, right? When we did the DS-160, it said to bring the passport and proof that the Form 129-F was approved. I thought that was strange - wouldn't the fact that the petition is at the embassy via NVC proof that the petition was approved? <_<

Got the RFE letter today and it was not as bad as I assumed. They asked for more information on how we met, which I sent an extra sheet explaining how we met on a dating website. I however didn't put the name of the site. They want more proof of having met in two years. I sent photos, boarding passes and itinerary. I didn't send copy of passport stamps and I think that was a mistake. The last thing is a letter explaining why I traveled in my maiden name as opposed to my married name. I never changed my passport from my old last name when I married my ex husband. I didn't think I would be travelling out of the country again so I never changed it. I believe a more detail letter of having met online with dates and the websites name should help with the first issue. Then a copy of my passport should solve the second. The last I am a little unsure about. Do I send a copy of my marriage to my ex showing my name change and a letter stating that I got the passport before I was married and didn't update it after the marriage. Also should I send another copy of my divorce decree since I sent it with the package?

Wow, I am not sure of the answer on some of your questions. Unless someone in this group has some good information you might want to create a thread for your RFE, that way you can get some more senior members on this site to provide feedback or someone that has had previous experience. Just a thought.
