**Update**

I called a few minutes ago to NVC considering its been a week since I'd received my NO2 and found out it arrived as of today. The Agent who kept the conversation very short and simple said that it could take anywhere up to 42 days to assign a few set of numbers, which i figure its not as a bad as TSC wait time. So yeah there's more waiting- I just hope we get to spend Christmas together.. Fingers crossed to those who are still waiting to be approve GOOD LUCK guys!!

Fingers Crossed
Fingers Crossed

My NOA2 was approved August 7th. I received a message from USCIS on August 21st stating that they mailed off my petition to the NVC. I have called NVC every Friday and they tell me it could take up to 35 days to receive... We were really hoping for a October wedding. We would definitely like to get married before the end of the year so I can file my taxes with him as a dependent. lol It's starting to get really ridiculous... this waiting. We are ready to move on with our lives.

I started planning a January wedding about this time last month. I haven't paid for anything that is date-dependent (I ordered a dress, and I'm getting some invitations designed...will plug in the date and location as soon as we can commit to it). I figure that if we have a January wedding planned, the earliest he'll be "allowed" to immigrate is that date in October. We'll probably do the courthouse at the end of December for tax purposes, or to hit the 90 day requirement, if he makes it here in late Sept/early Oct.

But honestly, I think that mid/late October is what is realistic for us. He is just REALLY BAD at anything to do with organization. He's had the list of vaccinations for 2 weeks. Public clinics are free (as long as you've paid your social insurance). Every day for two weeks, I've been asking where he's at on getting the vaccinations. "It's complicated" is all I keep getting. Apparently "complicated" is "asking for an appointment". Which can take a while. Which is exactly why I sent him the list two weeks ago. To get the show on the road. Sigh. At this rate, I feel like we'll be lucky to see October.

But for you, assuming you're not marrying my fiance's long lost twin or something.......October is very do-able for you. Maybe not the big white wedding. Maybe you'll give folks two weeks' notice. Or elope. But I think as long as you get moving on Packet 3, you'll be able to do October.

Marriage/ AOS Timeline:

23 Dec 2015: Legal marriage

23 Jan 2016: Wedding!

23 Jan 2016: "Blizzard of the Century", wedding canceled/rescheduled (thank goodness we were legally married first or we'd have had a big problem!) :sleepy:

24 Jan 2016: Small "civil ceremony" with friends and family who were snowed in with us. December was a bit of a secret and people had traveled internationally and knew we *had* to get married that weekend, and our December legal marriage was nothing but signing a piece of paper at our priest's kitchen table, without any sort of vows etc so this was actually a very special (if not legally significant) day. (L)

16 Apr 2016: Filed for AOS and EAD/AP (We delayed a bit-- no big rush, enjoying the USCIS break)

23 Apr 2016: Wedding! Finally! :luv:

27 Apr 2016: Electronic NOA1 for all 3 :dancing:
29 Apr 2016: NOA1 Hardcopy for all 3
29 Jul 2016: Online service request for late EAD (Day 104)
29 Jul 2016: EAD/AP Approved ~3 hours after online service request
04 Aug 2016: RFE for Green Card (requested medicals/ vaccination record. They already have it). :ranting:
05 Aug 2016: EAD/AP Combo Card arrived! (Day 111)
08 Aug 2016: Congressional constituent request to get guidance on the RFE. Hoping they see they have the form and approve!

K-1 Visa Timeline:

PLEASE NOTE. This timeline was during the period of time when TSC was working on I-129fs and had a huge backlog. The average processing time was 210+ days. This is in no way predictive of your own timeline if you filed during or after April 2015, unless CSC develops a backlog. A backlog is anything above the 5-month goal time listed on USCIS's site

14 Feb 2015: Mailed I-129f to Dallas Lockbox. (L) (Most expensive Valentine's card I've ever sent!)

17 Feb 2015: NOA1 "Received Date"
19 Feb 2015: NOA1 Notice Date
08 Aug 2015: NOA2 email! :luv: (173 days from NOA1)

17 Aug 2015: Sent to NVC

?? Aug 2015: Arrived at NVC

25 Aug 2015: NVC Case # Assigned

31 Aug 2015: Left NVC for Consulate in San Jose

09 Sep 2015: Consulate received :dancing: (32 days from NOA2)

11 Sep 2015: Packet 3 emailed from embassy to me, the petitioner (34 days from NOA2).

18 Sep 2015: Medicals complete

21 Sep 2015: Packet 3 complete, my boss puts a temporary moratorium on all time off due to work emergency :clock:

02 Oct 2015: Work emergency clears up, interview scheduled (soonest available was 5 business days away--Columbus Day was in there)

13 Oct 2015: Interview

13 Oct 2015: VISA APPROVED  (236 days from NOA1)

19 Oct 2015: Visa-in-hand

24 Oct 2015: POE !

15 Dec 2015: Fiance's mother's B-2 visa interview: APPROVED! So happy she will be at the wedding!

Yes, we are going to do a courthouse wedding within days of him getting here and then have a huge family wedding in March. He refuses to order the wedding bands (in Belgium) until he gets the visa in his hands and we were told it could take up 3 weeks to get the rings!!! So, yes, I think your fiancé and my fiancé may be twins.

I do have another question. Paul, my fiancé, was going to pay for the fees that were needed to finish this process up... but am I reading this correctly? Do we have to pay the fees online first? I have had nightmares with trying to get money back and forth from Belgium. It's never happened. But he saved up all the money to pay the fees.... Can he not pay there in Belgium at the embassy???

I just checked my NVC status. It's "in transit". Meaning my dumbutt yet again was playing like he had all the time in the world to do the SIMPLEST of tasks....and now...times up! We weren't talking to each other the day we got NOA2. Or more specifically, I wasn't talking to him so that I didn't some extremely nasty things that I don't really mean. August has not been a good month for us. And I'm not entirely sure what to do about that.

You are certainly not alone. Another day and nothing has happened. ?

You are correct, there are a lot of us on the waiting list

The first six months of waiting was easy, now the day to day is tormenting

Oh well, live and learn

I have a friend who said screw it and came up with his own personal immigration plan, similar to 25 million others

No paperwork and go.........................

Its so sad that they took our money in Feb but they will not give use any useful info about our case. Millions just sneak over the boarders and they get first attention. Smh I'm over it!

catherineA, are you able to check you case status in CEAC already?

How long did it take for you to get your case number from NVC from NOA2? My fiance has been calling NVC since last week :( he hasn't able to connect to an operator. he's starting to get frustrated :(

I'm finally done! took oath at DEC 2019 😁

I didn't even try to call until 2 weeks after NOA2. I wasn't even planning to try but I was curious. They had just assigned a number that day. Then, I checked the ceac site on Friday...nothing. and then today and i saw that it went out today, with at least one other Costa Rica filer from this site (she's a CSC person so shes not on this thread ). She got her number on Friday. Looks like they mail to San Jose on Mondays.

Same with me :(

Getting really impatient. Can't make any plans and it frustrates me.

Actually, I was assigned an alien number on my receipt notice. Not sure if that's same for everyone?

Should I ring USCIS?

What is the site link to check the status? You have to have the case number from NVC to do this correct?

I'm still waiting for NVC to get my case number. I've called three times in hopes that my packet would be processed quickly and nothing as of yet.

Seems like another waiting game. I'd love to get married in October even if it is at the court house. I can at least celebrate in October every year but it seems more realistic I am going for a Feb wedding date now. Bummer. It was either Oct 28th or Feb 29th. ;-) leap year!!
