Yes, I've been contacting NVC about 2 -3 times a week by phone and email. Last Thursday I asked for it to be reviewed by a supervisor as no one can seem to tell me what the holdup is. I got the usual excuses....we were closed for a few days due to weather.....it's taking a little longer to review EP cases....you can hope it's done by Friday (that was on Mar 5)

It's extremely frustrating since the checklist item was because we missed putting the date on one line. Everything else is complete and correct.

Wow, that's crazy and totally ridiculous for just a missing date!! I hope a supervisor gets to the bottom of this and I'm praying you get a CC very soon!

Hey, yeah nice to see some locals :)

You are SO flippen lucky you went through CSC btw...

I called my lawyer in NY today and he says he cannot even speak to anyone at the NVC because it "has not been 60 days". 60 f-ing days to checklist ONE PAGE of the AOS!!!!!!!!

I want to tear my hair out, this process has been going for us since last January 2014. Luckily I saw my spouse in Oct last year when he came here to visit.

I've seen my spouse ONCE in over a year since we got married - it's not fair. Those people should be ashamed of themselves for keeping people apart.

Well goodluck :)

I know just what you're going through. We married on January 30th of last year and I left him January 31st and haven't seen him since :( It is a terribly frustrating situation to be in and one that most people can't even fathom knowing how difficult it can be (except the good people here on VJ). So, I feel your pain. At least now there's a small pinhole of light - knowing I should be with him within the next 2 months I'm hoping. Best of luck to you!

Likewise married on Feb 23rd last year, last seen her in person on Mar 17th last year. You are correct that most people can't fathom the situation. I would go further. Well meaning friends and family make it worse with their questions: "How can it possibly take a year?" as if we're doing something incorrectly in pursuing the visa, or my favorite "You haven't seen her in a year???" making both of us feel like . And only slightly worse: "You have the patience of an angel"... I guess they never see or hear me scream into the void in frustration, alone in my apartment.

Visiting her costs $2,000+ and uses vacation time that I have very little of. I guess it's not obvious that we'd like to save $ for a down payment on a house, or save vacation time so we can return and visit her family at Christmas, when she'll be missing them badly. So I just smile my sad smile, nod in agreement, and accept their pity.

In the meantime, I have this thread to give me hope that as NVC makes up time on their responses, that I'll end up reuniting with my wife a few days earlier. And I can't express enough thanks to ariani for making this hope possible by tracking the responses.

I know that feel bro..... having to take 3 flights and travelling 24-30hrs is EXHAUSTING. This nightmare will pass and this wait will SO be worth it.

Dang you hit the nail on the head. ALL OF THE ABOVE has been asked of me as well. And here's my favorite: "What do you mean it's taking a year? You're married, can't he just automatically come here?" OMG, if that were the case - don't you think he'd be here with me right now?? UGH!! C'mon people! But I guess it's futile to expect "the outside world" to understand, especially if you don't have any interest. And yes, many tears of frustration, sadness and loneliness has been shed before I slept on many a night. With this being our 2nd go around, I'm even more anxious. Five + years is enough already! Bring on our spouses!! Good Luck to you all!!

I also have people asking me why I am not there? Can't I just get on a plane and go - we are married!!! They see all that stuff in the movies but don't know the reality. I think some people are starting to suspect our marriage is breaking up and we are hiding things... it's CRAZY!!!

I agree with all of you. Others even those that i consider friends who i suppose should understand us, still doubt us. I remember at a certain baby shower they attacked me like "when are you going?" i was like "I still cannot tell coz our immigration process is still not finalized'.. then i hear them talking behind my back like trying to see non-existent skeletons in our closet. Saying that my spouse is busy cheating on me coz the wait is too long...SAD!

Anyway, where are the CC's today maaaaaan??!!

Just got off the phone with NVC and talked to a very nice girl who said that it is entirely likely that there won't be a lot of updated case completes until next week.

Met in 2010 on a forum for a mutual interest. Became friends.
2011: Realized we needed to evaluate our status as friends when we realized we were talking about raising children together.

2011/2012: Decided we were a couple sometime in, but no possibility of being together due to being same sex couple.

June 26, 2013: DOMA overturned. American married couples ALL have the same federal rights at last! We can be a family!

June-September, 2013: Discussion about being together begins.

November 13, 2013: Meet in person to see if this could work. It's perfect. We plan to elope to Boston, MA.

March 13, 2014 Married!

May 9, 2014: Petition mailed to USCIS

May 12, 2014: NOA1.
October 27, 2014: NOA2. (5 months, 2 weeks, 1 day after NOA1)
October 31, 2014: USCIS ships file to NVC (five days after NOA2) Happy Halloween for us!

November 18, 2014: NVC receives our case (22 days after NOA2)

December 17, 2014: NVC generates case number (50 days after NOA2)

December 19, 2014: Receive AOS bill, DS-261. Submit DS-261 (52 days after NOA2)

Did she give a reason? More snow? A team building break-away? Someone's birthday? :)
