Another futile game of brinksmanship. Oh God, I love it when the GOP controls Congress, with the resulting government shutdowns and the resultant grandstanding... At the very least the citizens are generally safe from the vagaries of the normal government bureaucracies, and some pittance of money is saved. Much like Will Shakespeare's play title, Much Ado About Nothing.....

YMMV.

this is crazy, i was just wondering why they cannot come up with the budget, just thinking about how many thousands of dollars future immigrants and immigrants pay to be in the US legally, probably millions of dollar.

This is not about a budget or fixing one. They are using it to unfund the immigration side because Obama seems to think he is the King and can make any rule he wants. So to that end, he changes the laws that affect millions of unauthorized immigrants, Letting millions of undocumented immigrants jump in front of you in the immigration line is something you want?

It probably won't affect the USCIS. What this means is that Boehner is playing chicken with our national security.

So their solution is to de-fund a national security in treat instead of coming up with any semblance of a plan themselves to actually FIX or IMPROVE the current status?

Yup...sounds like the Grandstanding Old Party to me!

I don't care who fixes it, just do YOUR DAM JOBS!

And I just think how many millions of dollars Texas Taxpayers are having to pay to put National Guard on the US/Mexico border to try to curb illegal aliens from Mexico and countries south of Mexico importing illegal aliens that are made up of drug dealers, uneducated poor.

It's nothing more than grandstanding.

They are not concerned if they are putting the nation at risk so long as they get their 15 seconds of fame in front of the cameras...

Most DHS employees are considered "essential," meaning that workers like border patrol agents and Transportation Security Administration employees would remain on the job, albeit without pay. So in the eyes of some lawmakers, a DHS shutdown wouldn't have as much impact as the government-wide shutdown in 2013.

"The shutdown would be extremely limited. It would be only in one department, with only a small percentage of people in that one department. But again, nobody has a goal here of shutting anything down. The goal here is to get the president to get right with the Constitution that he swore an oath to uphold," said Rep. John Fleming (R-La.).
