Does petitioner need to show self-employment recent payments if we have a co-sponsor?

I've looked around the forums and couldn't find the answer to this specific situation.

I am the USC petitioner and my fiance's uncle who lives in the US is our co-sponsor. I'll be submitting my 2014 tax returns and I did have a W-2 for one project but the rest was on 1099. Since I am self employed there is really no pay-stub as such that I get on a regular basis, people cut checks to my name or the name of my company. Since we have a co-sponsor will I be ok with just the tax returns for me? Or should I write a letter explaining that I am self employed and therefore no paystubs for Jan-March 2015? Btw, our interview will be next month.

When my husband went to his interview the only thing they asked him for was the i-864 and tax transcripts. He had to have them ready in had for the interviewer. So if your Embassy is anything like our experience I would say have i-864 for your co-sponsor, their tax transcripts, your i-864 and any tax transcripts you have for yourself if you submitted an 1099 you may want to send those and any W'2's that you submitted. From what I understand anything that you submitted to NVC they may be asked to show copies of those papers. Someone else may have a different experience.

Ye the co-sponsor has all that stuff. We're K1 applicants so we're submitting the I-134 but I think the concept of support docs is fairly similar. Thanks for responding!

K-1 applicants use the I-134 and submit nothing to the NVC.

Self-employed don't have letters from employers or pay stubs and can use their tax transcripts. If you use a complete copy of your return(s), then provide all forms, schedules, W-2s and 1099s. If using an IRS tax transcript, then including them is up to you, unless your consulate's instructions specifically ask for them. Self-employed can also use CPA/quarterly statements, if you have them. Sometimes bank statements are used to show how much income is actually deposited monthly. With a co-sponsor, not sure all of that is necessary though.
