I'm wondering if the type of visa makes a difference. I've noticed most K-1s from TSC getting case numbers quite quickly - well at least the ones I'm seeing on VJ.

Yep. K-1s from TSC are pretty quick, generally no more than a couple weeks (keyword: generally). CSC is a lot slower for approved K-1s, and 1-130s seem to be slower from all service centers.

Yeah that's why I ask because people I've been following with this process already got theirs. So just wanted to know if anyone knew what the issue was. Thanks for the info and yes I'm glad I was at texas. CSC sucks at this part lol

Our NOA2 was sent electronically on 1/20. We're working on renewing passport, birth certificate, affidavit, etc. right now, but I want to make sure we're staying on top of the NVC stuff because it sounds like it's going to take awhile since we got approved through CSC.

How do you know when NVC receives your case (and therefore when the 35 days starts)?

Still no case number from the NVC. It's been 2 weeks. Is this something I should worry about? They keep telling me to wait 35 days. Can anyone else share their experience?

Call NVC and get it on the phone!

Get what on the phone? I already did call and they said they do not have my case today.

You don't know. The 35 days start from the day you were approved. That's what they told me when I called today. You never know when they received your case. You will just have to keep calling until they say they have it.

For the Philippines, after you have your MNL number, A- number, receipt number, and lady told me the petition was sent to Manila, what to do next?

It is my understanding that you have to have MNL hard copy, to schedule interview, and get medical, is this true, and sites I can go to to find any more information.

Things have changed so much, since me and my wife went through this, and doing this for a "computer challenged" friend.

Any comments, gladly accepted.,.,.,,

Call them! They give case numbers on the phone. Might have to call several times to get through, and when getting through you will wait in que, but if you set aside a few hours one day you will get through and get the case number. I called a Friday evening and got through after 60-90 minutes. Maybe a Friday evening is a good time to call specifically, being a Friday evening when other people do other things instead of calling the NVC. I dont know...
