My NVC website says 'ready'. But I haven't got any 'packets'. Should I just wait for the embassy to call my fiancé?

Yes, you or your fiancé should wait for an email/Package with the instructions or a call to ask you an email/address to send them... I waited 1 week exactly from the NVC Changed my case to "Ready" until we got the email with the instructions from the Embassy. However, this could be different since it depends in the consulate/Embassy administration. I highly suggest you to read about your Consulate/Embassy in the Portals Section in Visa Journey.

Good luck!

Regards

Check your embassy's websites, to see if it has the Packet info on it. Montreal does their packet 3 by email, so we found and printed the checklist from the site, and scanned and emailed it. Their Packet 4 is also online, so we're working on that too.

We tried to create an account on their site last night, to schedule the interview, but it wasn't letting us select K-1 Visa as an option. So he's written an email to the Consulate, to find out what we should do.

It feels like USCIS all over again with NVC sitting on the case and not forwarding to embassg. CEAC status is At NVC and when I call they say it's in AP. What can be a possible reason they aren't forwarding it???

I am in the same boat...I called and all they could say is it was still in AP. I don't know what reason but its been two weeks and 1 day since they received our case. I am very frustrated. I seen one case that was processed just one week before mine is already at the Embassy (Ghana) and awaiting packets!!! Unbelievable!!

If it is not sent by next week I will contact my Senator. They kept our case open until it arrives at the Embassy.

I wonder if it has to do with the week when we got approved. USCIS never updated our status to "my case was sent to department of state". What's could be doing that's causing the delay???

My case status was never updated either at USCIS. All I was told by NVC was there is no time frame when in AP. Right now I feel hopeless. I don't know what to do or how to get answers of why they are holding it.

I know another July filer who's case was sent the same time as ours and their case is already at the Embassy. Why our cases are being held???

hello everyone, I need your help. Me and my fiance are going through some problems to get his police certificates...

I am peruvian and american, my fiance is colombian. During our 8 years of ongoing relationship we lived together in my home country (Peru) for about 2 years and 11 months together. Now during this time, his status in Peru was asi f he was a tourist. As you know when you are more than 6 months in another country, any extra day you pay a fee for staying. Well my fiance did paid all the extra fees for staying overtime. Since he needs police certificates of every place he has lived more than 6 months we are suppose to get his police certificate of those 2 years and 11 months he was in Peru. But now that we want to do them, the consulate of peru in Colombia just told him he can not get a police certificate because he was a TOURIST.

Now, we dont know what to do, we know he is supposed to have police certificates of everywhere he has been over 6 months. Is this something that may cause a rejection during the interview?

Please help us, or re direct us to a thread where we can get help. Thanks to everyone!

That's great ... You are definitely getting closer.

My case was sent to them since 24th February and yet they haven't received it as at yesterday when i spoke with them. Has anyone whose case was sent same day as mine received his/her case nos yet?
