Austin.. Thanks for reply

Great city. I asked because South of San Antonio toward the border there are sometimes immigration checkpoints. Just carry copies of any AOS receipts or any other documentation showing you are adjusting your status legally. Oh, of course bring your passport. Because you are going to Austin, you should be okay. I love Austin by the way.

Yup, you can travel anywhere within the 50 states no issue. FYI - You must have your passport in your possession.

My then-fiancee & I were married on South Padre Island 6 days ago. We passed the internal immigration checkpoint heading in the opposite direction on our way south to South Padre Island. I was already prepped about the checkpoint when planning to marry on South Padre Island, so we were well prepared. On our day back, just 4 days ago, we had to go through the checkpoint. We stop, the lady looks at us, looks like she will tell us to proceed, but then asks "You're both citizens?" I say "No; she's not." Before anything else could happen, my wife hands her her passport. She looks at the identity page briefly, then starts flipping through the pages. She stops on the K-1 Visa page. Stares for about 10 seconds, as though that was her 1st time seeing that Visa. Then she hands it back & says "you're free to leave." We of course had all kinds of things with us for backup but didn't need them. I-94, marriage certificate, copy of international birth cert, etc.

Edit: The checkpoint was Sarita, TX on US-77.
