No problem Samreen. I noticed that myself as well, other consulates have their specific interview thread but I didn't see this for Islamabad embassy so wanted to create one where everyone from Pakistan can post their questions, interview experience/reviews etc.

You will be approved on the 8th Dec Insha Allah :) I will be looking forward to hear good news from you first thing in the morning. By the time I get up and get to work in USA, you will already have your interview and you will post "APPROVED" :)

http://www.visajourney.com/reviews/index.php?cnty=Pakistan&cty=&dfilter=5&topic=IR-1%2FCR-1+Visa

Good luck!

My husband's interview is also on December 16th!!!!

iA both of their interviews go well.

Thanks for the info

The whole protesting situation makes me a little uneasy.

I do not want his interview to be delayed.

Does the embassy usually stay open?

Hehehe infact I love Gulaab Jamun. If you don't mind asking in which state you will be staying with your husband? If you will be on East coast specifically New York City area or metropolitan area in New Jersey, there are excellent sweet shops. You can get pretty good Gulab jaman, barfi, jalebis, samosas etc. Now I am craving some gulab jamans :rofl::rofl:

Yes, good luck to both of them and Insha Allah both of them will be approved

Yes, its pretty disappointing situation in Pakistan with all the protests going on. There was a talk of entire Pakistan being shut down on December 16th but now they have decided to carry their protest in entire Pakistan on December 18th. so, embassy won't be closed Insha Allah. Embassy was closed when PTi conducted their Dharna in August this year, I think it was close for 2 or 3 days. My wife lives in Islamabad area so at least she won't have to travel from other city. Keeping my fingers crossed for things to go smoothly and soon we will be living a happy prosperous married life with our spouses Insha Allah :)

My wife paid her fees in Rupees. You can call the medical center where you will be having your medical and ask them if they accept dollars. Good luck!

You will be fine. I don't think tonsils is too big of an issue during your medical but you can take some precautions and stay away from cold drinks and should gargle every night that will make things better. Good luck!

Thank u sooo much for ur tips my whole family didnt use cold water even in summer also we use matka for this purpose :) fridge only use for meals storage not for even ice or drinks :D

Gargle is good idea i did use it daily

I will be moving to Chicago iA. But desi mithais u can get them over there as well but my husband says they don't taste the same :D I m planing to take gajar ka halwa with me when I go ;)

Yes this situation is scary. It's in Faisalabad on 8th thank God but I heard about whole Pakistan shutting on 16th. IA embassy will remain open though. One of my friends had interview in August and situations were bad in Islamabad but their interview went normally. We now have very few days and iA visas will be in hand :)

Chicago nice, you will be moving in Windy City ;) It's a nice city though. You will enjoy your time there Insha Allah. You will experience lots of snow there too in winter which you will love it 1st year after that not so much :rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

I am excited for you Samreen, you have waited patiently though this rough process :) Actually the nationwide protest has been shifted to December 18th from December 16th so that's a good sign :)

30 dec its too late but m still trying to become happy :(

It is but think of it this way, there are people who after their interview go through Administrative Processing for almost 6 months to 1 year, so be happy and say thanks to Allah, He will make things go smoothly for you at interview Insha Allah :)

Hi all,

Does anyone know if you have to register with a courier service before the interview at islamabad embassy. If yes, can you please share the details such as courier company name and phone number.

Do any of you know if communication records are required at the interview? My husband and I normally just use whatsapp or do Tango calls/video chat but 90% we stick to whatsapp. Do those needed to be printed and handed in? :/

I don't think for Pakistan you will have to register with them. Embassy staff will ask you from which city you will be collecting your stamped passport and sealed packet and they will send it their. Please click on this link to find out the locations of courier services for IV applicants:

http://islamabad.usembassy.gov/courier_services.html

They are not required but a good proof of ongoing marriage. I talk with my wife on whatsapp alot, Tango and viber as well. My wife will be taking the screenshots of skype video calls with her to the interview.

So I think I have everything together in one file.

Interview letter

Passport

Photographs

Medical record

Ds260 confirmation

Receipts of AOS and IV payments

Call logs of one month

Transactions that my husband sent me

Wedding album

And a few other pictures we had

Copies of original documents that we sent them

Am I missing anything? I don't have AOS package copy like transcript or AOS form. Is it important to take it as well? I hope I have not forgotten abythibg.

Do any of you know if communication records are required at the interview? My husband and I normally just use whatsapp or do Tango calls/video chat but 90% we stick to whatsapp. Do those needed to be printed and handed in? :/

Same with us. Tango we use almost everyday once and whatsapp all the time. I m just taking 20-30 days tango call log though. Not whatsapp. I don't think they ask for it usually but keep some just in case.

Sameeen, list looks good. I would suggest you to take copy of entire AOS packet that was sent to NVC since you had a checklist for your AOS. Just a suggestion.

Yes, keep log of few calls just in case they ask because your husband wasn't able to visit you in Pakistan so they might ask you, how did you guys talk to eachother?

Are you doing an interview in English or Urdu? Did the date change for your case status update on ceac website where it says "Ready@?
