OK, why is it that single moms (how common is it really, I would like to see some statistics on the subject, feel that their only way out from poverty is by having a child?

So it doesn't seem much of a factor then.

Single Mom's How common is it.. Really

Why do they feel that is their ticket.

Because their Momma did it, and their Momma did it, and their Momma did it.

Their ticket out of poverty? Really. Didn't work for their momma and their momma's momma and their momma's momma's momma either. So sure, they do it because they think it'll work for them.

It's not about a way out of poverty. It's the realization that being born into poverty, they're more likely than not to be stuck there. And with the kids being born to these girls, the expectation of being stuck in poverty becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. Not only for these girls but for their kids as well. It's a vicious cycle.

I agree, pregnancy not a way out of poverty. Although our right leaning friends would probably have us believe that these unfortunate woman are going to earn lots of welfare dollars.

Maybe because it might be the lesser of two evils.

So if you want to experience the 3rd world you no longer need a passport. Just head to any of the southern states and explore that mysterious world right here at home!

Eugenics. It's the future of fascism.

It should be mandatory abortions for all pregnant women who make less than 125% of the poverty level.(a sponsor would also work)

Make it like the immigration process.

Ohhhh….I forgot….the laws for immigration favor those who break them.

In most cases it's convenience or ignorance. You either vote red because you want to maintain a status quo that favors your endeavors if you are very rich, or you do so because you keep waiting for the crumbs to fall down the floor so you can feed, if you're poor.

Oh, I know. I live in one. And I don't have to travel far to visit the third world. Honestly, taking US27 down to Miami is a real eye opener.

If the republicans are the lesser of two evils, then country is completely screwed.
