Hi

My sister has got a call for her visa interview at US embassy in Islamabad, She has some important exams in her University during that time and we want to reschedule the interview date due to that. But her husband in US is worried that if she reschedules her interview then the next interview date might be after very long time. Does anybody has a similar experience of rescheduling the interview date? Please share.

Thanks

If her husband is a US citizen then their is no harm to reschedule the interview but if he is a green card holder then it will create problem due to the priority dates!! visa bulletin for dec2014 has been out and march2013 cases are current now.

Expect it to be pushed out 2 months or more. So if that's well than she notifies the embassy and asks for a later date.

I would have her state "I have exams i must complete during the scheduled time but after XXXXXX date I am ready for an interview."

Than maybe hey won't push out so far.

Islamabad either doesn't seem that busy or they're handling cases very quickly. My fiancee was originally scheduled for an interview on September 5th. We were notified of that date only 9 days before.

Then she had a problem with her medical and had to go through some tests. She was notified on October 17th that her test results came back and everything was fine. Just three days later on October 20th, she received notice of her new interview date, which like the first was only 9 days away - on October 29th. So, it could get rescheduled much quicker than you would think. We were thinking it would be at least a month out but it wasn't.
